This week really had me thinking. [Warning Spoiler for Season 7 in the next sentence] Trixie Mattel going home in only the fourth episode after being pegged as a finalist by many fans caused a lot of controversy. People absolutely lost their minds. But you know what? This is not the first time we've seen the wrong queen go home. In six seasons (seven, with All Stars), Ru has been a beacon of truth, but being there, as opposed to being an onlooker, can cloud your judgment. I'm not saying Ru was wrong, but he can't always know how attached fans could get to a particular contestant.
Thus, I've taken it upon myself to remind everyone of the past shocking eliminations in Drag Race history. Trust me, there have been a few.
Note: This list is purposely excluding Willam (who was disqualified, not eliminated) and Tammie Brown's Season One appearance (because she flat out gave up).
5. Honey Mahogany and Vivienne Pinay (Season Five)
Ok, no shade, but we all sort of knew somewhere inside that these two weren't top three, but with the mess of contestants that made up season five, it was really a shame to see two queens that I thought had great potential not only go home, but go home at the same time. In the first (and as of this writing only) double elimination in the show's history, both Honey and Viv went home due to a boring lip sync, relying on pretty, and kaftans. Of course that didn't stop me from interviewing both of them.

Drag Race All Stars First Look
It is coming. I may not seem too excited about it as of late (it's hard to be excited when we've lost someone so special, but I'm keeping my head up), but I am beyond ready to see some of my favorites return to the show to prove themselves again. Thankfully Logo is really bad at keeping things wrapped up too tight, and has decided to show us the first few minutes of the show, with the queens arriving in the work room. Check out this craziness!
Of course two of my favorites are highlighted, but for two extremely different reasons. Manila Luzon was picked up in the promo because of how outrageously fabulous she is. She has the most extreme look of the group, with her hair literally holding an old fashioned cigarette in her Cruela outfit. Her attitude is sharp as always, and I have a feeling that she is going to snatch the crown this year. She may have some tough competition, but she has what it takes.
The best part of the whole promo had to be seeing Mimi Imfurst walk into the work room. Literally everyone lost it. Of all the queens, Raven seems the most upset to see her back. I'm not sure if they have a history, or if I'm just not remembering Raven as being such a bitch on things that don't have much to do with her. Either way, the entire room went up into a roar of laughter and anger when she walked in. I guess some people are just jealous.
The footage we are seeing is taken from a few minutes into the show. We don't get to see the first queens walk into the room (I would have liked to see Tammie Brown's entrance), and many of the other queens were pushed to the background to make way for some of the big names. Pandora Boxx, for instance, is hardly even shown or noticeable in the background of the happenings while Manila, Chad, and Mimi make their way into the work room.
I have mixed feelings about this promo. Half the fun of the show is seeing a new set of girls come in to make a name for themselves. Then again, I have such love for Pandora, Raven, Mimi, Tammie, Manila, and many of the others that made it back onto the show. Many of the girls had connected before and after their season with girls from other seasons, so the dynamics and alliances will be fun to discover. The show probably has a few surprises up it's sleeve, so stay on your toes.
The first episode goes down October 22, in just over a week. The premier will be dedicated to the memory of Sahara, which is a very kind gesture from Logo. Are you ready for the madness to begin?

Drag U Tue - 80's Ladies
This is it. The final episode of RuPaul's Drag U season two. In true RuPaul style, the finales just get bigger and bigger every year. This time around, he's landed three very famous 80's women to get themselves made over and also show a more human side to them than just performers. I really hate to see this show end already, but that just means we are one step closer to Drag Race season four! So why don't we get started?
These ladies may not be in the public eye much today, but back in the 80's, they were the hottest things around. Jane, made popular by being the guitarist from The GoGos, was given the name Chiffon Brule and the professor Morgan. Downtown Julie Brown, a former VJ for MTV, was dubbed Donatella Mewhatodo and paired with Shannel. Stacie Q, singer of the famous track "Two of Hearts", was renamed Savannah and coached by Carmen Carerra. These girls are certainly in the best of hands.
I have to start out by saying I now am madly in love with Carmen. I think she may have seen her actions in Drag Race and decided it was time for a change. Who knows? But in Drag U, she is amazing. I've always liked her style, but her personality, previously that is, just turned me off. Now she is a sweetheart. She is still, however, an airhead. When Stacey mentioned someone with a "Congenial" problem, she asked what happened to the guys genitals. Carmen showed her soft side again, comforting her student when she talked about her best friend and hair stylist who passed away 22 years ago. These tearjerker moments always get me!
The lady lesson this week was... interesting. Instead of teaching them stuff, Lady Bunny decided she wanted to become Oprah and show off some of her favorite things. Being the crazy lady she is, she showed them things like the "hot bod" shirt, much like what Detla Work wore in the comedy challenge on Drag Race. Another device was a bra that you could put booze in. I really have to wonder sometimes how sane Lady Bunny is. At least she's funny, right? Moving on.
Dance class was by Tony Bassil. I know, I know. It's time again for me to complain that my hot boys arent here. Damn, I wish that at least for the final episode they had brought them back, but oh well. Maybe Andre will be back for the next season. The dance was to RuPaul's new song "Superstar", which isn't a surprise. Ru is known for his shameless self promotion in Drag U, which is part of the campy charm this show has.
Morgan and her girl Jane were the spotlight of the show for me. Jane is just so adorable and peppy, I can't stop watching her. She has an adorable voice, and is always in a good mood. I was really proud of how she pushed herself so hard and didn't even complain. She apparently had a hiking accident a while back and messed up her knee. Despite this, she rocked the runway and the dance. Morgan served as a very good support system, always keeping her going. The two worked very well together.
Shannel. Oh, Shannel. I really was surprised to see you in the finale. Shannel has been in this show more than anyone else (well, maybe not more than Raven), and I really can't decide if I like her or just want her to go away forever. She always looks amazing, but her personality falters at times. She can be really into herself, which as a drag queen isn't a bad thing, but in the context of the show is not how things need to be done. She was very understanding, though, when Julie didn't want to go for the dragulator look. Instead, they decided to go for a glamorous diva look, and it really did work in favor for her.
Before I knew it, the final draguation was here. This will be the last time (at least for a year or so) that I get to see three amazing women turn it out, drag style, on the runway. First up was Jane. Her look was phenomenal. She was a total dominatrix with leather and bondage influences. I loved the wide laced fishnets and the ponytail. Julie, my favorite of the three, came out in a beautiful gown, a much different image from her dragulator "rocker chick" look. Her skirt was floor length, but partially see through, and made for an amazing dress. Finally, Stacey rocked the runway in a feathery outfit. I didn't like the dress much. It looked very busy and unfocused. Her hair, however, was amazing and even had some cute rhinestones in it.
After a fun dance segment and the judges' deliberation, we find out that Julie won. I thought it was a good note to end on for the show. She really did make the transformation from boring mom who hadn't been out in years to glamorous queen. Plus, Ru accused her of stealing his style -- in jest of course!
The final drag tips is what I viewed as a peace offering. It featured both Jujubee and Raven, who, throughout the series, have flung so much shade at one another. Today, they worked together to make up for that by giving everyone tips on how to properly put on fake lashes. In the end, they stood together with their lashes on fluttering away. But we all know they went right back to being shady as soon as it was over with.
And that's all she -- err I -- wrote. Til next season!

Carmen is still stuck in fish mode from the last episode. |

Aren't they supposed to be talking them out of bad 80's fashion? |

Drag U Tue - Looking For A New Job
The season is winding down, and with only two episodes left, this show is heating up in crazy ways. We finally get to see two queens not on the show yet. Tyra Sanchez and Carmen Carerra finally pop in to teach these girls how to be fierce! And who is the third queen you might ask? Well, let's just say the Raven Show is back on the air -- and this time it's double trouble. Raven Symone is the guest judge. Without further ado, my take on Drag U's second to last episode!
This episode was all about women who can't get a job. They all lost their jobs in various ways, and now need a confidence boost to get back to where they need to be. Rachel, AKA Tasty Rain, is paired with Carmen. Betsy, or Mahjong, is left in Raven's care. Deena, dubbed Shalamar, was to be taught by the queen herself, Tyra. These girls are certainly given the best help they could get.
I really enjoyed seeing the lesser fleshed out queens. Tyra, as much as I poke fun at her, is really a very striking queen. She always is spot on with her fashion, makeup, and hair. All three of her looks in this episode were amazing and top notch. I was really surprised when she came up with a great idea of snapping her girl out of her "I'm old" mentality. She gave the girl a cane and sunglasses and made her hobble around so that she could appreciate being only thirty. Thirty isn't that old, right?
The lady lesson this week was one I don't know if I could have taken. They learned how to do home spa treatments on a budget. They mixed together household items to make facial masks. The Pepto and the yogurt I could have handled, but peanut butter? Not only am I allergic to it, but also its just gross. I can't stand feeling it on my hands, but on my face too? Man, I shudder just thinking about it. Maybe we should move on.
Carmen shocked me in this episode. In Drag Race, she was always a bit sneaky. I know it was a competition, but she always had some shade to go around, but here, we saw a whole different side of her. Gone was the Carmen from the "Jocks in Frocks" episode who threw her drag brother under the bus. Now was a caring Carmen, who shared her insecurities with her student about how she used to hate her nose. She told her that there are ways to shape her nose with makeup, but she should still be proud of who she is. I was glad to see her as less of an air head, and more of a normal, loving individual.
The dance class disappointed me once again. I was hoping to see one of my sexy dance teachers, but yet again they were both absent. Trisha is a very talented dancer, and she is quite good at instructing, but I need my man candy. At least she sort of looks like Manila Luzon. That is always a plus. The dance segment was a bit uneventful -- until the end.
After a mini breakdown, Betsy had a heart to heart with her professor, Raven. Raven once again shook off her reputation as an ice queen and took the girl under her wing, encouraging her to be herself and to lover herself. But it wouldn't be a Raven episode without her tossing some shade. She purposely picked a fight with Carmen to teach her girl how to cause some drama for a quick laugh. Shade can be funny, and fun!
At draguation, the girls looked amazing. Rachel had some amazing and huge hair. I wasn't a fan of her cape that she had. I don't know what direction it was supposed to be going in. The dress could have been a little longer, but Carmen wanted to show off her thighs, so I guess the point got across. Betsy looked like a pinup girl and I loved it! She looked like she could be on any calendar back in WWII and be the obsession of all the army boys. My favorite, looks wise, was Deena. She didn't use the pink wig she teased us with, but she still served some serious Minaj. I loved the poofy bow at the back of her dress, too.
Before they could go about their final dance, Deena ran off stage. She said that her foot was cramping and it hurt too badly. The girl was being a diva before she even had the fame! The nerve! Anyway, Ru gave her a stern talking to and got her some new shoes. Soon she was back on the stage and the dancing commenced. The end result was that Betsy won, which was my top pick over all.
The drag tips this week was once again by the ever hilarious Manila Luzon. I just can't get enough of this girl. She gave you tips on things you should bring with you for the morning after all that partying. She even included some shades so your annoying neighbors get the hint to mind their own business.

I spent most of this episode wondering if Tyra was possessed. |

I don't think that is the kind of "fish" they were talking about, Carmen. |

Drag U Tue - A Family That Drags Together
This season of Drag U keeps on surprising me. Just when I think the show is winding down it throws me a curve ball and gets me hooked in again. This week's episode was very special. The families of three of our favorite drag queens came on the show to be made over to be just as fierce as their brothers/sons. This week RuPaul proved that families that drag together, do indeed stay together.
This episode featured Susan, dubbed Falconetta, Jujubees shy and reserved sister, Rachel, given the name Lark St. Laurent, Manila's already quite outspoken sister, and Deshawna, AKA Ladyhawke Raven's core Christian values mother. Let me tell you, the family resemblance is striking -- even without all the makeup. These women really need a style boost, and they are in the right hands for the job.
The tension between the girls and their families was outrageous at first. We had Raven, who's mother not only insisted on calling him by his boy name, but also had never been around him in drag before. Manila's sister Rachel was feeling neglected. The biggest shock for me, however, was Susan. She and her brother were very close at one point, but something happened.
The first teary-eyed moment in the show was between Juju and Susan. We know from earlier episodes, as well as Drag Race, that Jujubee's father passed away. The three of them were very close. What we didn't know, was that right after he passed away, Juju's mother left with another man, breaking their family apart. Seeing the two of them discuss it and try and make amends was touching. I can really feel for their situation; I know what they are going through. I can only hope the best for the two of them.
The Lady Lesson this week was hilarious. They learned the art of padding. The real kicker was Raven giving her mother bird seed boobs (complete with nipples). The others focused on butts and hips, making the illusion of being really skinny. The sassyness of this episode is impossible to describe. They all had so much to catch up on and yet it felt like they had all been together forever. The rapport the sisters developed was hilarious, and even Deshawna learned a thing or two from Raven.
Deshawna and Raven surprised me the most out of all the girls. We learned during the course of the episode that she once disowned her son. They were from a strict Mormon family, and that was definitely a no-no. Over the years, her mother relaxed and began to accept her for the man-woman she had become. Drag U was the final step in that process to finally be accepted. Near the end of the episode, Raven teared up, thanking her mother for finally coming to terms and renewing their family bond. How sweet!
Tears aside, Deshawna was probably the fiercest mom I've ever seen. She was serving up some shade, which is exactly what Ms. Raven is famous for. The two of them hatched a plan to annoy Juju, and with that the Raven Show was off hiatus and back into the spotlight. This time, she and her co-star Ladyhawke, decided to mix and match all the shoes to make it difficult for Juju to find anything for her sister. And as if having a sixth toe on one foot wouldn't make that hard enough!
The dance lesson was one big blah for me. Neither of my sexy deans were there this time around. Hopefully we'll get to see Andre one last time before the show ends. He was such a cutie! I really have nothing left to say here.
Manila and her sister were quite the pair. They had been very close when they were younger, but not so much now. The drive behind her sister wanting to be better than her was finally revealed late in the episode. Apparently she has had a feeling of being left behind. She said her sister never was in the mood to see her or hang out with her, and she was never invited to the drag shows Manila put on. Manila said she didn't realize those things meant so much to her sister and vowed to correct them in the future.
Before I knew it, Draguation was here. Susan looked fabulous. She had a very shiny dress and some crazy diva-fro hair going on. Her confidence level went through the roof! Rachel had a freaking Icecream hair clip! That is so Manila. In fact, she looked just like Manila -- which isn't a bad thing at all. She had a very colorful and poofy dress on. She was definitely my fave! Deshawna was the weakest of the group, but not bad by a long shot. She had an interesting asymmetrical dress on. The only thing that didn't work for me was the hair.
In the end, Deshawna had the best transformation and she draguated with top honors. Despite my critiques, I still loved her look. All of the girls looked amazing this time. I don't know how the judges were able to pick just one. I really do think Raven deserved the win this time. She is fierce, and so is her mama!
The Drag Tips this week are brought to you by fan favorite Ongina. She gave us tips on how to use cucumbers effectively... as something other than a sex toy? Anyway, apparently you can use it to tighten cellulite and even to make your eyes less puffy. Who'd have thought?

No, Juju isn't drunk again. |

Decision 2011: Drag U MVP
I may get hell for saying this, but deciding who to align myself with for the Drag U MVP is hard. I am giving this more thought than I did the presidential election -- Wait. I wasn't old enough to vote then. Anyway, I gave less thought to picking my Drag Race season three Miss Congeniality. I mean, it's easy when there are only three to four amazing queens in a season, but every single queen in Drag U is fierce. The best of the best were selected. How in the hell am I supposed to pick just one?
I know, I know. You can vote as many times as you want, for different people, too, but If I vote for every queen, my vote would just be fluff and do nothing. Thus I am embarking on a quest to pick only one queen -- and believe it or not, Pandora isn't the only lady at the top of my list!
Option One: Mariah
I love this bitch. While she may not be the best at causing drama, she sure as hell knows how to put herself in the middle of it. My main reason for wanting to pick this queen is due to her quick wit. Any time something is said, it doesn't take her a split second to come back with something sarcastic and harsh. For example: She once asked one of her students if she was ok. After a tentative "yes" she immediately told her something to th effect of "Ok, Moving on". A lot of my memories of her were a bit overshadowed in Drag Race. She was very fierce, but with so many queens, it was hard to see her. She wasn't the best during her stint at pushing to the foreground, but Drag U changed this for her. The balance of bitch and sweetheart is what I love about her.
Option Two: Raven
Dear god. My love/hate relationship with Raven over the course of Drag Race season two is a thing of the long gone past. I honestly think she should have won season two, given the final three, and I had a lot of faith in her. When she didn't win and instead went on to Drag U, I was concerned. She is known for being cold hearted; she even said it was her trademark at one point. I just didn't think she could pull off teaching someone how to do drag... but damn she pulled it off. On the reunion special, she vowed to change. This new Raven still has that bitch-fierce attitude, but with a softer side. She has a really good niche for connecting with her students emotionally, and she wins -- a lot. I am a sucker for a good drama queen, and she always starts something, whether it is stealing other queens stuff or calling out some of the busted looks the others come up with, this girl knows how to werk!
Option Three: Manila Luzon
Manila, Manila, Manila. She was my top pick from episode one of Drag Race season three. When she was in the bottom two, I stopped breathing for nearly a minute. When she didn't win, I was devastated. I was afraid I'd never hear from her again, but come time for Drag U, she was prominently featured on the series sneak peek decked out in Cookie Monster gear. I just can't describe what it is I like about her exactly. Manila is self absorbed, caddy... and spectacular. Her sense of humor is always spot on, and she manages to come off as a bitch without being mean. As confusing as that sounds it is possible. I have become a huge fan of this lady, and Drag U is no exception. It also doesn't hurt that she is always spot on. I can't think of one time that I hated her outfit. She hand draws her designs and is dating Sahara Davenport. What more could you ask for?
Option Four: Pandora Boxx
You knew it was coming. If you've read any of my posts on here (ever) then you know I am a Fandora at heart. She won my heart in Drag Race season two. I thought she would go all the way, and I was extatic to find out she was going to be a professor again. She just has a heart of gold. She never really got into drama, she always looks amazing (dem fishnets, grrl), and she is funny as hell. Pandora's story touched my heart way back during season two of Drag Race, and I connected to her on a mental level. I think that is why I feel so attached to her. I know she isn't the most polished or fierce, but she is real. She is an amazing person and that can outshine any "tacky" outfit one might put on -- and I mean that in the most loving way possible!
See!? It's hard. I mean, we haven't even seen all of the queens on the show yet. Carmen and Tyra haven't even had an episode! How and I supposed to pick just one. I still have a few more weeks to make my decision (and spam the hell out of it with constant voting). Over the next week, I'll do my best to narrow it down. Now, ladies, who loves me the most?
Drag U Tue - Naughty Nurses
Big news! The Raven Show has been canceled! Please stay tuned for a review of Drag U episode five: Raven Gone Missing. What? Oh she did the Drag Tip segment. Never mind. Anyway, We're already at episode five, "Naughty Nurses". And let me tell you -- These nurses are the furthest thing from naughty.
We are introduced to three women. Lanell, a former Penthouse model dubbed Angel Esprit and paired with Jujubee, Hope, a mom who put everyone first named Tawny Fox left with Shannel, and Kim, a woman who has given up on trying any more due to a traumatic few years given the name Nikki Minaj Vixen and partnered with Mariah. Looks like we have one hell of an episode on our hands.
Actually, despite the promos for the episode, which didn't do it justice, this has actually been my favorite episode this season. The women are likable, the professors are amusing and well dressed, and the lessons they learn feel very real. Usually when I watch an episode of Drag U, the women are in the background, and I'm just in it for the catfights and professors from Drag Race past. This time, however, I really felt for them. The drama was real and the women were easy to connect with.
That being said, I still really enjoyed the drama going on. My love/hate relationship with Shannel continues here yet again. I just don't know if I buy her. During Drag Race, she was pretty manipulative and self centered. I understand people can change, and she looks to have, but every now and then you see her selfishness pop up. I really am warming up to her though. Her costumes are more outlandish than the other professors (Causing some drama I'll get to soon) and she knows how to brand herself well. She's the showgirl of the group, and she won't let you forget it.
Filling the role of instigator in for Raven is professor Mariah. Maybe I missed it, but I don't really remember her being so manipulative or caddy during the run of Drag U. She always seemed to be the more classy lady, but for the past two episodes she's the one perpetuating all drama that goes on in the Drag Lab. She mocked Shannel and Jujubee both continuously throughout the episode. I was a little shocked. I mean it's one thing to fight back when Raven shows her claws, but its another to openly mock those around you... Ok so I love it. I love bitches. I have a new respect for this lady and she's climbing the closer to the top of my favorite queens. Don't worry, Pandora, she'll never replace you in my heart.
Back at the Lady Lesson with Lady Bunny, we find that women get all of their magical sex appeal powers from their underwear. Who'd have known. Unfortunately these ladies super abilities were hindered by terrible granny panties. I mean really? Anyway, the professors decided to show these girls what they should be wearing and Lady Bunny made them all strip down in their new undergarments and show the world. Thankfully, they were wearing something a little more sexy than before, but still, I am a gay man. I don't want to see that. Can we get the Pit Crew from Drag Race 3 please?
After the Lady Lesson, we cut to a scene of Lanell telling Jujubee about her bout with cancer. This strong and brave woman has been fighting this battle practically alone. This lead to a lot of tears from Juju as she talked about having to be strong through her father's death. I can really relate to this. I think that is why I like Juju as much as I do. It's not that I like her style or eve her attitude sometimes, but I love how strong she is. She isn't afraid to show her emotions, but she knows how to keep composure and strength when necessary. My only upset about this was the lack of revelation. Why didn't it have a bonus scene of Lanell revealing her cancer fight to her children? That would have been the ultimate payoff, but alas, either time ran out or they didn't find a place for it in the episode. Ah well, I guess.
By the time the dance lesson rolled around I was so upset already by Lanell and Juju's struggles that not seeing the adorable Andre there to give these girls the dance routine of their life, I just lost it. Ok, ok. Joking aside, I really wish they would keep a consistent Dean of Dance on the show... and I also wish it would be the adorable Andre.
Before you can blink, Draguation is at hand. First up was Lanell. While I love her personality and story, she just didn't do it for me. She looked like a Lady Gaga impersonator that just didn't get it. The mask looked awkward, skirt was just a bunch of hanging fabric, and the boas just set it over the top. Hope was my shining star tonight. She had the attitude and a hot dress to match. Her hair looked amazing and I was very proud of Shannel for not making another MiniShannel this go around. Hope maintained her individuality and then some. Kim was just... well... I didn't get the Asian theme. Why? It looked a hot mess. The only compliment I could think of costuming wise was the hair. Girl did have some fab hair.
In the end, Lanell won. I was really rooting for Hope, but I can see why they chose who they did. Lanell had a major personality change, a major look change, and finally was going to face the reality that she needed support from her family. It wasn't a bad choice, just not what I would have picked.
Our drag tip this go around was by Raven, who just had to pop up one more time before her show got taken off the air. In case you haven't caught on yet, Im joking and I love the hell out of Raven. Missed you boo! This time she tells us how to use a felt tip marker. You can make a pimple into a beauty mark, sign autographs, and... leave messages on bathroom stalls? Anyway, it was nice to see her one more time. Hopefully she'll pop up again down the line, but not next week. My sources tell me that Mariah will be back with avengance, Bebe will be gracing the show with her elegance... and HOT DAMN! Pandora Boxx will hit the scene. Drag U are you ready for her cooter?

Drag U Tue - Like a Virgin
This post comes a bit later than usual, mostly due to the fact that my ISP decided it would be awesome to do some really annoying updates RIGHT when the episode was posted on Logo's website. Uhg. Anyway, before I get carried away on a rant about how terrible local service is, lets jump right into this weeks Drag U!
These ladies should really stop making such hilarious faces. I'm gonna get 'em every time. Anyway, this weeks theme was virgins, and trust me, there was a reason these girls hadn't gotten any. Raven's student, Christina (AKA Candy Wrapper), had never been kissed. Megan, given to the care of Mariah (and named Smokey St. James by the Dragulator) graduated from Harvard and spent the rest of her days behind a computer desk. Sally, paired with Juju, can't think of a single thing to be proud of in her life. The professors really had their work cut out for them this week.
This weeks lady lesson was rather uncomfortable for me. It was all about lady scaping. I try to avoid talking about man scaping as it is. I really don't need to know what your lady bits look like, or what style wig they've got on. The amazing Lady Bunny showed them some rather comical example of how they could style themselves including: The Landing Strip, The Bermuda Triangle, The Rising Sun, And... The Wifi? Apparently Raven had full signal in there. It probably would have been less awkward if Megan hadn't have gotten her inspiration from her sweater.. oh and if Lady Bunny had remembered to shave her chest hair! Gross!

The antics in this episode were above average for the series. Raven's constant battle against, well, everyone, continues in this edition of The Raven Show (Seriously, she is in nearly every episode!) as she steals, yet again. God, I love the bitch but she goes out of the way to create drama. She took Juju's earrings and hid them. Much to everyone's surprise, the winner this time was actually Mariah, who took them for herself. There were a few arguments over how much skin to show and the startling revelation that Jujubee is really a man. Who'd have thought that on a show about drag queens?
I was ecstatic to see that Andre had returned for this episode's dance segment. He is still adorable and now is rocking a killer mohawk. He is adorable, and if I got him a visor, we could have some really awesome Star Trek role play... and suddenly this review got really awkward. Anyway -- Cuteness aside, he really is a good dance instructor, and this routine is the best I've seen yet on Drag U. We ended up having a bit of a problem when Sally began complaining about her ankles. I wanted to sympathize with her, but I just couldn't force myself to do so. A lot of queens go through a lot of pain to look like they do, so she should have just toughed it out.
Soon enough it was Draguation. Sally looked a bit of a hot mess. Nothing really seemed to be working 100%. The dress was unflattering, the wig didn't fit her well. It was a mess. Megan looked quite put together, with a bit of a Victorian look thrown in there. My favorite, though, was Christina. Her look was red hot and she had some amazing hair to match it. She had the most confidence and the best dance moves. But alas, the curse upon me is that my favorites rarely ever win, and the title was given to the less confident Megan. I guess I cant be too upset. She was good, just not the best in my opinion.
To wrap it all up, we had Morgan McMichaels giving us tips on the unusual uses for petroleum jelly. Apparently you aren't supposed to use it with condoms though. Morgan looked really hot in this. I can't wait to see more of her in the show. And PUH-LEASE! Where is my Pandora Boxx? Four episodes in and she's had a total of ten seconds of screen time. You are wearing my patients, show!

Drag U Tue - Lesbians Gone Wild
After taking a break to watch the fireworks (and probably make some of their own) Drag U has returned in full swing. This time around we have some overly butch lesbians going back to school to learn how to be amazingly fabulous and get back in touch with their feminine sides.
Julie is our first ladylover and is quickly paired up with Jujubee. This girl hasn't worn a dress since her highschool prom. AJ, a self conscious girl hiding under layers and layers of clothing, teams up with Raven. Skyler, a -- wait. That's a girl? It looks like a man. A hot man. Oh lord. Anyway, Skyler goes with Ongina. It looks like we are off to a great start.
Julie (Calamity), AJ (Thunder), and Skyler (Scorpio) pay a visit to the Dragulator as per usual and then are shuffled into their first lady lesson with Lady Bunny, but not before Ongina proceeded to list off all kinds of synonyms for boobs. Their lesson is in finding the perfect bra. Being a gay man, I could care less about knowing how to configure a bra size, so I spent the majority of this segment on twitter rambling off about music and whatnot. I did come back in time to hear Raven exclaim about how amazing AJ's tatas were. And girl did she prove it when she revealed her corrected bra.
After a few hilarious impersonations by Julie and an extended scene about how Skyler hates every wig in existence, we finally move onto the dance class. The song of the week is Bootylicious, a song that they believe will bring out the sexy in these girls. Honestly, from the clips they showed, I don't think any of these girls needed to be shaking their jelly, but then again, editing always makes things look worse than they really are, right? Right!? Either that or Skyler was just too distracted by how hot the teacher was to dance accordingly.
Oddly enough, I'd have to say the highlight of the episode was definitely the continuing catfight between Jujubee and Raven. Their first fight was over how to walk properly, wherein we discovered Juju is a hoodrat and Raven was rejected from the Real Houswives franchise. In the second fight, Juju tricks Raven into giving up her ring by saying she stole it. I have always loved Raven, and her random drama-for-no-reason instances make me giggle.
Draguation came sooner than I had expected and the girls were all dolled up. Julie looked like a gangster wife straight from the fifties. Not exactly the most flattering colors, but it worked for her. AJ came out wearing a tux-dress, showing off her nice tots (and was that a Mimi ImFurst wig?). Skyler, the most shocking transformation, came out as a Rihanna impersonator -- and a damn good one at that. In the end, AJ won. I was satisfied with the end result. I loved Skyler's look, but her attitude remained the same. AJ showed more of a dramatic change, overcoming her fear or showing her chest and her negative self image.
Wrapping things up, we have Pandora Boxx giving us drag tips on what all you can do with Hair Spray. And DAMN isn't it about time she actually got to be showcased on the show? I've been waiting and waiting to see my favorite queen on the show. And who knew that hair spray could save panty hos?
Also, anyone else think this week's Dean of Dance looked like Carmen from Drag Race season three? Maybe I'm crazy.

Drag U Tue - Bringing Sexy Back
Hello and welcome to the first installment of my weekly review on my second favorite television show -- only second to the wonderful Drag Race we've all come to love. Drag U is an uplifting show where previous Drag Race contestants come back to mentor biological women and give them the fierceness of drag queens, boosting their self esteem as well as their sex lives. Without further ado, I present to you, Drag U Tue: Episode One.
In this installment of Drag U, we are shown three women who view themselves as ugly. To correct this injustice, three certified drag professors are sent in. Lisa, an excessively negative housewife, is given to the care of Shannel. Rhonda, a diva turned housewife and mother, was given Manila to guide her. Denise, a woman afraid to look at herself in the mirror, was granted the stunning vixen Raven. Let's just say the three of them had their work cut out for them.
Returning from season one is the "new and improved" Dragulator, giving the girls their own drag names and looks. Lisa was named Rai'zon Darasi; Rhonda as Summer Night; Denise as Cha Cha Mizrahi. The looks weren't as impressive as those seen on season one, but then again I am told I'm too cynical when it comes to fashion. Who knew? I have to say, though, I was delighted to see that the "commence dragulation" bit was left in. RuPaul's fro is FIERCE! I can't help but love it.
The challenge for the episode seemed pretty simple. As the theme of the episode was to bring the sexiness back to their marriages, they were to create sexy voicemails for their husbands. Lisa was up first, sounding like some kind of robot. It was a little freaky. Denise bribed her husband for sex by saying he could play video games later (to which Raven suggested she simply play with his joystick). And then there was Rhonda... Poor, poor Rhonda. She said she wanted to play with her husbands "diesel mangina".
Yeah. Diesel. Mangina. I have no idea what happened there, or what that lady thinks a mangina is, but I'm quite certain she is confusing that with a penis. Anywho, despite her mixup in diction (hah!), she did do the best, keeping her sexy voice up and sharing her, however bizarre, fantasies like Dean of Drag Lady Bunny suggested to them.
The women had heart to heart talks with their professors. Most of it was your general "you know you are hot in there grrl" talk. A big surprise did come when I heard Shannel complimenting someone other than herself. Yeah. I know. Let me give you a second to take that all in. Ms. All About Me Shannel actually showed her kinder side by letting Lisa know she was a really beautiful woman and that her ex husband was wrong for treating her the way she did. It seems my rather negative views on Shannel may change in the future -- that is if this is a more than once in a lifetime thing. Manila's pep talk involved her favorite sex positions ("The Social Network" and "Never Ending Pasta Dinner"), and Raven went all "Mommy Dearest" on Denise. Lets just say these gals are a strange bunch.
My biggest "oh no" moment had little to do with manginas. It was more focused on my lovely Manila. During the dance lesson for the girls, the drag professors decided to take over and show them how it is done, and tragically, Manila fell hard on her butt. I was pretty shocked. From what I've seen, Ms. Luzon knows how to get down. I guess everyone messes up sometimes. I just hope she is OK.
Finally, the down in the dumps housewives get all dolled up and go stroll out for everyone to gawk at them. Their looks really didn't impress me too much. I figured with this being the premier episode they would go full out and make everything a spectacle but I was mistaken. Lisa turned out to look like a Shannel clone, again, no shock there. Rhonda looked like a RuPaul impersonator and Denise looked, well, quite good. She had the whole cha cha diva tutu going on and her ponytail was totally fab. I was thrown back a bit to learn that the grading system had been dropped. Season one was big at giving the girls their Drag Point Average and that was how the winner was chosen. Now, the judges just pick their favorite in a collaboration. Lisa ended up winning, much to my dismay. I wanted Denise to win. I felt like she had the best transformation and the best attitude adjustment. Oh well, I guess.
A new, and rather odd, feature of Drag U are pre-commercial segments. The first one was a segment featuring Jujubee from season one giving you things you can do with old panty hos. Yeah. It was even in the really awkward infomercial style. The second was "A Word With RuPaul" wherein he said a rather strange word that I really couldn't understand well enough to type -- Hah! So all in all this was a really good way to start the Drag U season. And with that I bid farewell. Until next time, my friends. I leave you with this: Jujubee attempting to rob a bank with panty hos.
Ru Paul's Drag U Season Two Sneaky Peeky
We finally have a peek into what the second season of Drag U will be like. Once again, Ru has gathered together his professors to better the lives of biological women and give them that drag queen attitude. You can watch the extended preview here, but before we go any further, let me draw your attention to this:
That would be my favorite Drag Race 3 contestant, Manila Luzon, reacting rather comically to one of the Drag U contestants. It looks like the "mini challenges" to give the women an edge has returned, and I believe it's quite clear who won this one... even if she did confuse a penis with a mangina. The challenge is for these women to bring out their sexual sides by becoming sex chat line girls. Anyhoo, after the first woman's lackluster performance and the second's drastic mistake, the third one goes on to talk about how she wants a guy to come over... and play video games? While this may sound like every straight man's dream, Raven was not amused.
"You're not wanting him to play video games. You're wanting him to fxxk you." Video games? Really? I mean my boyfriend is a gamer nerd, but when Im feeling derty, I don't ask him to come play video games for me. Oh well. At least Raven looks super fierce... and maybe by Drag U season two, Manila will have a full Sesame Street cast of outfits. She's serving some Cookie Monster realness, HUN-TEY!
Also Shanel was there I think.
