The Veronicas Preview New Album With "Line Of Fire"

It's been such a long time coming. The Veronicas have been doing their best to make a comeback for a couple years now. They released the monster track "Lolita" back in mid 2012, and then they vanished once again, leaving us to wonder where "Life On Mars" went. Well not they're back -- for real -- and they are doing it solo. Check out the newest promo single for their new album "The Veronicas" called "Line Of Fire"!




Let me start by saying I LOVE this song. It is so much more like the old school Veronicas. Even with "Life On Mars" they had been saying that they were going in a less electro-rock direction, and the newest single "You Ruin Me", while a stunning track, seemed to prove this effort. The tracks are currently under wraps on iTunes and thus non-previewable so I had been worried that the core sound of The Veronicas that I'd come to know and love over the course of my young adult life would be gone.

The great thing about these two is that we always get interesting and deep lyrics. I don't think I've ever seen them plop out a stupid party song (I mean the closest they've had was "Popular" which was kind of a parody on party songs itself). "Line Of Fire" is no exception. This song is surely a page out of both of their diaries.

Weirdly enough, if you follow the duo close enough, you've heard these lyrics before. This was actually used in the teaser spot from back before "You Ruin Me" came out, much to the confusion of fans. The rumor is that the preview version of "Line Of Fire" will be put on the deluxe version of the album as a remix/re-imagined version. We can all hope for that.

For now, the album is not up on US iTunes. The girls have promised a world-wide release date will come shortly. The self-titled album will drop in Australia November 21.

Over the past twelve months tons of whacky shenanigans have gone down, ranging from stories involving some ultimate shade to haters doing what they do best. 5. Blood On The Dancefloor Battles Rumors

For starters, this October goth-glam group Blood on the Dance Floor experienced a bit of prejudice when it came to some items from their past. In a removed post from Buzznet whom were given the exclusive premier of their new video to, they bashed the band and lead singer Dahvie's past.

The time has come for a list so amazing and massive that it not only must surpass the standard countdown of five, but must also be split into two parts! This post is the first piece of a two part special to kick off the return of the ever popular "Top Five" articles that have been among the most fun and most popular recurring articles on the site! I did my best to think of what I find to be the best albums of all time, and it really did take a lot of thinking. Some of these may catch you off guard, and others you may see coming from a mile away.

Actually, in all honesty I kind of hate doing "Top Five Favorite" posts, because I always feel like I'm forgetting something glaringly obvious. I took about a week to brainstorm and compile this list, so I'm hoping that it reflects me accurately. Some of the picks may be seen through nostalgia goggles, but others are far too fresh for that. The dates range from earlier this year to two decades before I was born. There's no limits and no ass kissing this time -- it's just simply GaoSalad's Top Ten Favorite Albums Ever (Part One)!

10. Scissor Sisters - Magic Hour

How could a LGBT themed music site make a list of top albums and not include the one that spawned the biggest gay anthem of the decade? "Let's Have A Kiki" has become a massive hit for the band in the gay community, and it has placed the group back at the top where they belong. I didn't  choose the album for this song -- at least not entirely. The entire album is amazing from start to finish. I admit it did take a while to grow on me, but once I realized the full brilliance of the piece, it became a permanent part of my musical library. Every single track on the album is relatable for myself, from heatbreak, to longing, to wanting to break free from restrictions. Why so low on the list? Well you'll just have to keep scrolling to see the awesomeness that is the rest of my favorites.

Song of the Week - Lolita

So this song came out quite a bit ago in Australia, but it just now came out in the States, so that means it is free game. It's about time The Veronicas came back. For the billionth time allow me to blog about their new single, "Lolita". I promise this is the last time.

I can't say enough about this song. It is the re-introduction to the group the world almost forgot, twin sisters who make up the electro-rock-pop duo The Veronicas. This go around they are sounding much more electronic and you can bet I am a fan of the change. Oddly enough, they have said in interviews that the rest of their upcoming album, "Life On Mars", is more toned down than this single. Still yet, I have hope for this one.

The song is heavily inspired by the classic book and film of the same name. It's all about a girl who has a borderline psychotic obsession with a guy. This is probably how my love life is going to end up, which makes the song totally relatable to everyone, because I am the common man. Anyway, it is a totally different kind of love song, which quickly sets it apart from the rest.

Veronicas Release New "Lolita" Video

The Veronicas have done it again. Just when I thought their new single "Lolita" couldn't get any better, they go and release an epic video for it and I fall in love all over again. This time around they are taking no prisoners -- and they look freaking hot doing it. Check out the brand new video below.

This song is pretty much my anthem to my readers. "Always stay close to me. Don't think of leaving."

Psychotic tendencies aside, the video is amazing. It starts off slow, revealing both girls separately with their own legion of masked followers with guns stalking their every move. Soon enough the two meet up and the mayhem begins! They unleash gunfire upon a creature that looked like it was stolen from the set of the last Alien movie.

Yeah, it gets weird.

Despite this, I love the video quite a bit, milk baths and all. It's bringing back the style of videos I love -- the ones with just enough plot to be intriguing while not taking over the entire project (get the hint Lady Gaga?). The plot may not have all that much to do with the song, but at least it's entertaining and visually stunning. I'd say the Veronicas did a good job this go around.

The Veronicas Cause Twitter Uproar

Normally I wouldn't blog about something that is not only gossip, but not even about the US, but it's about the freaking Veronicas, people. How the hell can I resist talking about one of my favorite girl groups of all time?

The Veronicas may just be the best thing to come out of Australia. Like ever. They have been out of the spotlight for quite some time now, but I am glad to say that they are finally back, and apparently they are making a splash with all the tweenies over in Australia.

The Veronicas reportedly have been trash talking online (although I've yet to find the original source), calling out fellow Australian celebrities Janoskians -- a comedy group comprising of  five teens, including a fellow set of twins, posting viral videos via YouTube. The group have allegedly stated "how does being a jackass involve talent and they're releasing a single? Omg were not listening to that!" This is in reference to the recent announcement that the comedy group is going to be producing a single.

I spent about two hours digging around for info on this, and honestly, it took me ages to find anybody who knew what was even said. Twitter fans are in an uproar over the statement, but most just seem to be going on and on about how much they now hate the Veronicas. I found it very amusing that people were so quick to hate even without so much as a sliver of proof.

I am not sure if the above quote is 100% legit, but even so I can see where they are coming from. The basis of their statement was just because someone is famous does not entitle them to be able to make music. Sure you can go from being a media star to being a singer, but that often times makes people who have clawed their way from the bottom up a bit off-put.

I am obviously on the side of my girls, but then again, I am a pop music blogger, and "Untouched" was a big part of my life when I was in high school (giving away my age?). Plus, they just released a new song, which I am sure is being helped out by their recent feud. Unfortunately it is not out in the United States just yet, but you bet your ass as soon as it is, it will pop back up on this blog as Song of the Week!
