Even More RuPaul Themed X-Mas On The Way With Drag Race Album

Yas, hunties! It has been confirmed that we are getting even more holiday cheer in the form of men dressed up as woman. Who care about tradition? These ladybois are ready to rock you, and they don't give a damn about morals. Well maybe Ginger does, but the rest don't! So let's check out this sexy and sleek new RuPaul's Drag Race alumni Christmas album!

That's right! All of your faves are back! As long as your faves are Alaska, Ginger Minj, Miss Fame, Sharon Needles, Courtney Act, Katya, Jiggly Caliente, Detox, Darienne Lake, Ivy Winters, Pandora Boxx, Violet Chachki, Phi Phi O'Hara, Jinkx Monsoon, and Manila Luzon, because that's who alls on it. I see a lot of names that I have come to know and love, so I for one am excited about it. People Magazine online broke the story earlier this week, and people have been going crazy! I'm very glad to see Manila back, yet again. She, along with Pandora Boxx (who also is a delight to see) are the only ones that aren't on the more recent seasons, being from the third and second seasons respectively. Nobody from the first season made the cut despite Ru's obsession to this day with Bebe. Weird, right? Willam, Alaska, and Courtney (the AAA Girls) really dominate the album, so it would seem they are the masterminds behind this.

The preorder is TBA, but the release is coming November 13, just in time to annoy the hell out of everyone for playing Xmas music before Thanksgiving!

Phi Phi O'Hara Takes Music Where No Drag Queen Has Before -- As Jaremi Carey

Like it or not, Phi Phi O'Hara has always been someone to look out for. Forget her slightly slanted stunt on RuPaul's Drag Race. I'm talking about the fashion icon she's become, the cosplay queen she's evolved into, and the musician inside she's letting loose. Phi Phi is a queen to look out for, but in case you aren't already overloaded with impressed-ness, get ready to meet Jaremi Carey. That's Phi Phi's "boy side", and he's just as damned talented.

Jaremi is just as awesome a singer as Phi Phi. Who would have ever thought? Anyway, it's been a while since we've seen anything out of Jaremi. He has told us before that he planned on releasing two separate works, one as his boy identity and one as Phi Phi, but the road to recording seems to have been a long road for him. His first single (As Phi Phi) was produced by Zach Adam, but this is done with Mirrortone Studios, leaving one to speculate that whatever happened on this plane might be the setback we're looking for.

Song wise, "Take Control" does feel a bit dated. It feels more like a track you would have heard back in 2009 when dance music was king. Now with all the indie bands and more mellow pop tracks flooding the radio and net, this song stands out a bit, and not in the best way. I can say, however, that Jaremi has an extremely talented vocalist, and that keeps this track afloat in the best way possible.

The point is that Jaremi has developed into an incredibly lovable person over the past few years. His cosplay alone should get you into him (You seen him be Rita Repulsa!?). The song, although it doesn't feel recent, is still a fun jam and could turn into a great club banger with the right remix. Pick it up for yourself on iTunes and get rockin'!

RuPaul's Drag Race Finalist Phi Phi O'Hara Bravely Admits To Being Jailed

Move over, Latrice Royale! RuPaul's Drag Race has got another queen that's been to jail, hunty. OK, so it wasn't like she was put away for life, or even as long as Teresa Giudice for that matter, but Season Four finalist Phi Phi O'Hara has addressed to her fans this week why she has been missing from the drag scene lately -- she's got arrested.

I know, I know. The video is twenty-one minutes long. It's a bit of a stretch for even the most dedicated fans to really tune into, but the most important bits are at the beginning. Phi Phi mentions that a lot of people wondered where she was after the end of her run on RuPaul's Drag Race Battle of the Seasons (or RuPaulBOTS for short. Don't even get me started on how long it took me to realize what BOTS meant. There's a reason why I say #RHBH and not #RHOBH), but to be honest I thought she was just enjoying the down time while the new seasons even girls gleamed in the lime light.

Apparently a long time ago, Jaremi was involved with a lot of not-so-great people, and his boyfriend at the time gave him a gift of some eye wear that was actually stolen. When they broke up, his now ex said hew as the one who stole the items and Jaremi was put on probation. After a DUI that violated his probation, the young man decided that it was best to take off. He admits it was a stupid mistake that he says he was just too young to handle properly. 

I know Phi Phi has a lot of haters out there, but I don't think anybody can deny that this was brave of him to come out an admit. Honestly, he probably could have moved on and ignored the situation, keeping his private life to himself, but it's important to see that these people we see on television are real people too, and that everyone is capable of making mistakes. We all have done something not-so-smart that we are embarrassed of. I think we should commend Jaremi for his bravery.

Let's hope that with his time served, he will be more inclined to take on more TV opportunities (as he blames his criminal history popping up on his background checks as to why he wasn't on All Stars). I won't let someone's sordid past get in the way of how I feel about them in the present.

Have A Spooky Halloween With Adam Barta And Rebecca Glasscock

Look here. Adam Barta, after years of me supporting him in his musical endeavors, is now tryin' to steal my gig! Interviewing RuPaul's Drag Race girls has been my thing! But I guess it helps him out a lot more by being part of the Word of Wonder Youtube multi-channel network. This year he teamed up with Rebecca Glasscock to interview a ton of queens for NYC's annual Night of the Living Drag event. Check out the video below.





There is a lot going on here! Let me say that as hesitant as I was seeing Rebecca as the co-host of this video, I really ended up liking her. She has been popping up more and more ever since the first season of Drag Race was re-aired, and now she's becoming a regular in Adam's productions. Not bad, I'd have to say. She has grown a lot since her stint on the show, and comes across much more likeable in her new appearances. Good for her.

I love this video mostly because it allows for Drag Race fans that don't live in the NYC area (like me) to experience the show from a different aspect. We all see the videos of the queens werking it on stage, but it's a much rarer thing to see them back stage, more loosened up, and answering some fun questions. We find out that Ivy is engaged (apparently which she hadn't announced before), that Sharon believes in patricide, and that Phi Phi is and always will be the fiercest bitch around.

There were some great costumes, as well as some not-so-great. Coming out on top is Phi Phi O'Hara's Power Ranger's villain costume of Rita Repulsa. I have been a long time fan of the show, and she pulled it off 100%. I also was loving the retro vibe from Alaska's vintage Heavy Metal look. And we can't forget the fun and coordinated efforts from our hosts being Robin and Catwoman from the Batman franchise! Also, did anybody clock that Milk's costume was totally Magnolia Crawford?

The video does run a bit long, but who can blame them. This video is for anybody who wants to re-live the magic that was RuPaul's Drag Race and for anybody who wants a little inside scoop as to what the queens are up to. They didn't ask any hard hitting questions, but it was a fun night and no need for any sort of downer. All in all, Adam is doing a good job at being me.

Top Five: TOTU's Biggest Controversies

 It's the last day for 2012, and I plan on going out the only way I know how -- by highlighting all the crazy madness that goes on around this joint. Over the past twelve months tons of whacky shenanigans have gone down, ranging from stories involving some ultimate shade to haters doing what they do best. Now let's start off with the best, the better, and the worst of the year.

5. Blood On The Dancefloor Battles Rumors

For starters, this October goth-glam group Blood on the Dance Floor experienced a bit of prejudice when it came to some items from their past. In a removed post from Buzznet whom were given the exclusive premier of their new video to, they bashed the band and lead singer Dahvie's past.

Ru Paul's Drag Race - Reunion (Season Four)

It's gonna be short and sweet this week folks. It's about time this got wrapped up. What should have been done last week (I never originally planned on reviewing the reunion special) has spilled over into this week. Hopefully this will be quick an painless.

Who Should Win Drag Race Season Four

This is the ultimate question. Who cares about the Presidential race? It's the Drag Race we all should be looking to. The sad part is, we, as free Americans, don't get to vote in this one. We have to trust that Mama Ru and her close-nit group of friends chooses the right queen. This has to be tough, but I'm sure they can do it. This week, we were denied the final episode and given a painful filler 'recap' episode instead. I am not going to review this episode because recapping a recap is stupid. They did give us the "Glamazon" music video though.

I was really, really against watching this video before seeing the episode, but I finally snapped and gave it a view. It was very... strange to say the least. Cameos were made by... everyone. Literally every judge makes their way through and gets crushed by one of the big Glamazons. Complete with Japanese words flying around and (yet again) much more polished footage of Ru looking fierce, the video is another one that was obviously not the highlight of the show.

I honestly have never been a big fan of the music video challenge. The first one was amazing, having them create their own verses for the song, but afterwards, it got a bit tired. Next year let's have the final challenge be inviting the most amazing blogger ever (me) and let him interview them all and take fabulous pictures with them. Delusions aside, it could have been better.

But the question remains: Who should win? Obviously I am Team Phi Phi, as I love both her style and bitchiness, but both Sharon and Chad are amazing performers as well. Sharon has the future or new wave feel. Chad has showgirl spirit of days gone. Phi Phi has the current club kid style and vibe. Each of them are experts in what they do and who they are, but in the end, it is up to Ru to decide who he wants to carry on his name and legacy.

If Phi Phi doesn't win, I won't be heartbroken. Unlike last year where I had a definite favorite, this year I have been a general fan of everybody.
