RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 5 [Review]

People, please. I am hearing so many people say that this is the worst string of decisions ever made by Ru on a season of RuPaul's Drag Race, and I have to say that every one of you need to take a step back, breathe, and remember it's just a TV show. This elimination is far less shocking than last week, and I saw it coming from a month away -- and I'm gonna tell you why. But you'll have to read the whole review to find out at the end why. Or just skip to the end, I don't care. Either way I'm getting the view count.

Moses Universe Gives Hashtag Realness In New Music Video

I've been fighting the battle against hashtags from day one. I am just recently to the point to where I appreciate them on social media, but in pop culture (such as TV shows forcing the tags they want trending down your throat) and music, I was still firmly against it all. Well I guess I need to change that stance too because the artist formerly known as Moses -- now known as Moses Universe -- has come out with a new single and video to get everyone up and dancing again. Check out "#Epic".

I have such a great love for Moses Universe. He has been steadily pumping out music since practically the birth of this site, and I've been making a point to cover his antics whenever I can. Another one of Zach Adam's talented musical children, along side XELLE and Phi Phi O'Hara, Moses has a dark mysterious energy about him that makes for amazing pop music with just a hint of sexy to make things work.

The video is a fun trip to watch. We have a lot of black and white shots of Moses on his own, as well as a lot of shots of him out in a back alley. Mixed throughout the video are a lot of pieces with women who appear to be having a tea party, and end up handling live ducklings? Yeah. Not sure what's going on with that, exactly.

Moses really knows what he and his team are doing, because he may be releasing music at a slower pace, but it's a steady one, and each single really sounds like a lot of work went into it. He is on point in his videos, he has the production together, and he is always has something that's going to make people dance.

Now if only we could get that album he's been talking about for years now.

As of now, the track has yet to be uploaded to iTunes.

Top Five: Most Shocking Drag Race Eliminations (Pre-Season 7)

This week really had me thinking. [Warning Spoiler for Season 7 in the next sentence] Trixie Mattel going home in only the fourth episode after being pegged as a finalist by many fans caused a lot of controversy. People absolutely lost their minds. But you know what? This is not the first time we've seen the wrong queen go home. In six seasons (seven, with All Stars), Ru has been a beacon of truth, but being there, as opposed to being an onlooker, can cloud your judgment. I'm not saying Ru was wrong, but he can't always know how attached fans could get to a particular contestant.

Thus, I've taken it upon myself to remind everyone of the past shocking eliminations in Drag Race history.  Trust me, there have been a few.

Note: This list is purposely excluding Willam (who was disqualified, not eliminated) and Tammie Brown's Season One appearance (because she flat out gave up).

5. Honey Mahogany and Vivienne Pinay (Season Five)

Ok, no shade, but we all sort of knew somewhere inside that these two weren't top three, but with the mess of contestants that made up season five, it was really a shame to see two queens that I thought had great potential not only go home, but go home at the same time. In the first (and as of this writing only) double elimination in the show's history, both Honey and Viv went home due to a boring lip sync, relying on pretty, and kaftans. Of course that didn't stop me from interviewing both of them.

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Season 5 Episode 19 [Finale Review]

Thank the lord up in the sky that this season is finally wrapping up. There has been more drama than ever. You know, usually some event happens early in the season and that's all they talk about, but not these ladies. It's literally a new problem every week. At least the roller coaster is going around it's final turn and about to reach crazy town (which would be the reunion).

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 4 [Review]

Are you guys ready for the most controversial elimination on Drag Race since season two sending home Pandora Box? Well good news! This episode was bonkers. I literally have no words. Ok, so that's a lie. I have a lot of words, or else I wouldn't be reviewing it, right? Well let's get this mess started.

Adam Lambert Teases Retrun With Snippet Of Single "Ghost Town"

I know I usually only post about smaller indie artists, but I'll be damned if Adam Lambert isn't one of the best gay role models out there. Pair that with the fact that his fans, Glamberts, have always treated my site well each time I've posted about him, and it becomes a bit obvious why I decided to post on this. It looks like Adam is ready to emerge from the studio and show the world what he's been working on.

Recently buffed up openly gay vocalist Adam Lambert is back! Let us rejoice! Somewhere in the down time of his tour as legendary rock group Queen's new frontman, Lambert has found the time to record a new full length album, The Original High, which is set to release later this year. While we don't have a lot of info on it, sneaky Adam went to social media to give his fans the first taste of what's to come from him in the future. Check out this small but tasty snippet from "Ghost Town".

A video posted by ADAMLAMBERT (@adamlambert) on

It is pretty short, and we don't get to hear any "vocals" per say, but we do get a fun beat that even in just the few seconds gets stuck in your head, and some whistling which hasn't been a thing in pop music for a hot minute. I may be jumping the gun just a tad, but I really do think this track is going to be a hit.

And the Glamberts, I already know, agree with me. The instagram post has already gone viral, with already over 20 thousand likes and growing; not to mention the blog and news sites clamoring for more. I guess Adam really knows what he's doing.

To spice things up a bit, he even released a picture with what looks to be lyrics from the song. It isn't outright stated that they are lyrics, but he does mention "ghost" in them, which is a pretty good indicator. Bask. Enjoy. Love.

Sadly we've got to wait a whole month until the track officially gets released. The date is set for April 21st. Lucky for us, Adam is addicted to social media, so I'm sure we'll see a bit more of this in the near future.

Album Review - Marina And The Diamonds "Froot"

Oh. My. God. I started off not liking Marina one single bit. I found the idea of her somewhat jarring, but damnit if she didn't finally win me over with her previous album Electra Heart. In fact, I was so attached to that "era" in Diamonds' history that when she announced that album's character was now gone to make room for something new, I was a bit taken aback. But don't worry. This album is good. So, so good.

Quigley (Finally) Returns With Single + EP Preorder

Words cannot express how excited I am right now. I have been stalking Quigley on Facebook for ages. Back in the dark days of Frankmusik being Vincent Did It, he helped out a sweet young girl get her music career going. One EP later and she already fell off the face of the earth. Luckily, she didn't give up entirely, and is back with a new quirky track for you to take in. Get into "Post Apocalypse".

I am madly in love with this song. It is such a fun go, and it's exactly the artist I remember from her debut EP. The song uses a strange mix of back beats and her own electronically enhanced scatting to create the background. Layer her airy Kerli-esque voice on top of this already outlandish song, and you have something that you've not heard before. Anywhere.

And the song is not the only thing she's snuck out. With a little more digging, I found out that her second EP is coming out quick. May 8 (according to this Amazon listing) her next EP will be out for us all to enjoy. And when you can preview 30 seconds of each of the five tracks, it becomes magical. The EP is titled Initium and judging by the previews, it may just be my favorite EP to come out this year (I know, its not even half way over, but let me fanboy here!).

There is so much more to be discovered about Quigley, and I believe that this song will open a lot of doors for her, and show the world that she can run along side the other artists in today's spotlight. Move over, Lorde, we have Quigley, and she's about to deliver!

Tan Mom and Adam Barta Are At It Again With New Song + Video

Oh dear lord. It looks like the Adam Barta/Tan Mom love affair is just gonna keep on going. They've already collaborated twice in the past, and now it looks like they are back to their old antics. Let me apologize in advance because Adam may be my friend, but this is kind of a mess. Sorry gurl.

Where do we begin here? The song? Well it's awkward from the start. We begin with Adam having to remind Tan Mom that she should sing into the microphone. That's a great start. Musically, it's not a horrible piece. It's actually kind of amusing hearing Krentcil mock the Teen Mom franchise yet again, as well as compare herself to Katy Perry. Hell, she even goes as far to quote lyrics from "I Kissed A Girl". While it doesn't really come full circle (the lyrics get derailed at some point, but it's hard to say exactly where), it's amusing.

The song is not where I have issues. The video is where I have issues. What is even going on here? Half of the video -- no really literally half -- is Patricia at a dentist's office. Ok. But why? Then we have some low quality footage of Adam and Patricia "performing" at a venue. I put the quotation marks there because Tan Mom is mostly wandering around the stage while Adam is singing. The only part of the video that makes sense is the two of them on the red carpet at an event, which again is lower quality footage.

Adam's reality TV team-ups never have mind blowing videos, but this one seems really rushed. I would have liked to see more green screen antics from these two. It really gives off the vibe that they were on a deadline and both had conflicting schedules to shoot new footage, so they took literally every scrap of footage they could find to cram it into a video.

I guess when it comes down to it, I did get a good kick out of the project. It is a train wreck, but it's a fun and funny train wreck. If you're going to be a mess, at least be a hot mess. And Patricia Krentcil does this very well.

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Season 5 Episode 18 [Review]

The season is winding down and we've only got one more episode before we see them all sitting on a couch together trying not to strangle one another, but that doesn't mean the drama is going to cool down at all. No, no. Not with these crazy women. So what are they upset about this week? Let's find out!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 3 [Review]

It's Tuesday again! Which means it's time for Drag U Tue. Wait. We haven't done that in forever. Why again? Oh yeah, Drag U got canceled. Where is All Stars 2, again, Ru? Anyway, Tuesday means more RuPaul's Drag Race reviews with my revolving door of reads and truths. You ready for things to get hairy? I apologize for that pun. It didn't work on many levels.

Site News: Poll Time! I Need Your Opinion On A New Show To Follow

Hey guys! As the fall/winter reality TV schedule is starting to wrap up and we make room for Spring shows, I find myself missing out on a few that I would love to be doing, but I don't really have all the time I wish I did. I need your help to figure out which show I should fit into my tight schedule.

So on this poll we have four options:

1. Vanderpump Rules
I hadn't paid any attention to this show until this year and I more or less fell in love. All of these people are more or less awful human beings, which makes for the best TV you can have. I already review Beverly Hills, so this could be an easy fit into the list.

2. The Real Housewives of Cheshire
This is the latest over-seas housewives show, and people are going crazy for it. With the British Re-Invasion happening in Sci-Fi shows, it's about time we embrace their reality TV as well.

3. The Real Housewives of Atlanta
I personally love this show, but I didn't get as big of a reaction to my monthly recaps of it as I would have liked. Maybe if I review it weekly, we will have the kind of draw I was looking for. Plus, Nene Leakes is my hero.

4. Face Off
Kind of the oddball here, but I have been loving this show for a long time, and with Drag Race already under way this year and Skin Wars already on the list of shows for me to review, this won't
seem so out of place by the time the next season pops up.

Let's be clear that this won't be the end-all-be-all for the site, and I do have the final say on things, but I really would love to see what the readers think. Based on our current 2015 lineup of Beverly Hills, Drag Race, and Skin Wars, we are definitely looking to expand for next year. We need to keep the ball rolling!

Head over the right side of the page and let me know what you think!

RuPaul's Drag Race Finalist Phi Phi O'Hara Bravely Admits To Being Jailed

Move over, Latrice Royale! RuPaul's Drag Race has got another queen that's been to jail, hunty. OK, so it wasn't like she was put away for life, or even as long as Teresa Giudice for that matter, but Season Four finalist Phi Phi O'Hara has addressed to her fans this week why she has been missing from the drag scene lately -- she's got arrested.

I know, I know. The video is twenty-one minutes long. It's a bit of a stretch for even the most dedicated fans to really tune into, but the most important bits are at the beginning. Phi Phi mentions that a lot of people wondered where she was after the end of her run on RuPaul's Drag Race Battle of the Seasons (or RuPaulBOTS for short. Don't even get me started on how long it took me to realize what BOTS meant. There's a reason why I say #RHBH and not #RHOBH), but to be honest I thought she was just enjoying the down time while the new seasons even girls gleamed in the lime light.

Apparently a long time ago, Jaremi was involved with a lot of not-so-great people, and his boyfriend at the time gave him a gift of some eye wear that was actually stolen. When they broke up, his now ex said hew as the one who stole the items and Jaremi was put on probation. After a DUI that violated his probation, the young man decided that it was best to take off. He admits it was a stupid mistake that he says he was just too young to handle properly.

I know Phi Phi has a lot of haters out there, but I don't think anybody can deny that this was brave of him to come out an admit. Honestly, he probably could have moved on and ignored the situation, keeping his private life to himself, but it's important to see that these people we see on television are real people too, and that everyone is capable of making mistakes. We all have done something not-so-smart that we are embarrassed of. I think we should commend Jaremi for his bravery.

Let's hope that with his time served, he will be more inclined to take on more TV opportunities (as he blames his criminal history popping up on his background checks as to why he wasn't on All Stars). I won't let someone's sordid past get in the way of how I feel about them in the present.

To get to know more of Phi Phi's intimate side, check out this (now ancient) interview I did with her during season four.

Kenyth Mogan Takes Us To Oz With "Unlock Your Heart"

When it comes down to it, I love indie singers. I love finding a vocalist or a group that hasn't received the attention they deserve so I can help shine some light on the situation. Lucky for me, my reputation precedes me, and now apparently people are seeking me out. That's how I met Kenyth Mogan. He asked me to take a look at his new music video, and what can I say? I fell in love.

Isn't this video the cutest? I love the whole Wizard of Oz theme going on. With the gay community's strong ties to both the movie and it's star Judy Garland, this was not a bad route to go at all. The story is relatable for most gay men in that he is in love with his "straight" best friend. The quotation marks are there because by the end, the clunky tin man evolves into a muscle hunk who carries him off into happily ever after. So most guys don't actually end up with the straight guy they fell in love with, but it's a music video, so give him a break!

What I really love about this entire work is that even though it's obviously done on a budget, they don't let that hold them back. Things that may have been CG or done in after effects in a high budget video, they've found ways around or done in real time. Kenyth is not going to let being an independent artist work against him.

"Unlock Your Heart" as a song is a bit of a mixed feeling. It really feels like more effort was put into making the video fun and hot than making the song sound polished. Then again, maybe it was just a restriction he faced in post production with the track. I sound like I'm picking on it, but to be honest it's very fun and light. I just feel like with how great the video looks, it seems to be the weaker link of the project. I do like the style, being a strange mix of club music and singer/songwriter acoustic. I have literally never heard anyone mash together these two styles, especially making it work.

Overall, this is a great video with a fun song to pair with it that has just enough eye. The singer is the star of the video, and the buff nude men are kept to a minimum (for the sake of the story, right?), being a nice juxtaposition to the majority of the male gay artists out there today. In my opinion, Kenyth Mogan is someone you'll definitely wanna give a try.

Be sure and check out Kenyth on Facebook, and grab the single on iTunes.

Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Season 5 Episode 17 [Review]

Just when you think the vacation story arc can't get any more intense -- it does! What the hell was I thinking expecting a calm moment or two. Not with the ladies of the streets of the B.H. They play hard or don't play at all. Speaking of not playing at all, the iTunes store was down, which is why this is a day late. Lord help us have all the regularly scheduled posts on time next week. Amen.

By the way, this is another MFW (My Face When) screen cap week.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 2 [Review]

We are already into week two of RuPaul's Drag Race, and let me tell you, these girls are not wasting time making friends, okoi? This is the most focused group of girls we have seen on the show, and it's really showing. This year has a lot of standouts, meaning that each elimination (save for like, one probably) will be tough on the viewer. Let's take a minute to look over what exactly went down this week.

Laganja Estranja Wants You To See Her Legs

Oh. Lord. We all know I've recently fallen in love with Lagnja Estranja, but I never really saw her as a musical queen. Then again, most of the queens who have released songs I have never seen as musical queens. Oh well. Anyway, Laganja has come out with a single called "Legs", and it's about, well, her legs.

Let me start by saying I do not hat Laganja, nor do I exactly hate this song. The song, for what it is, is a pretty fun jam. That being said, when you compare it to people who have fully focused on music as their career. Ms. Estranja-Edwards really had a lot of fun making this song, and that's gotta count for something.

On the positive notes, the beat is killer. Whoever composed this track really knew what they were doing. It's fun, it's dancable, and it is a true club banger. I also really enjoyed Rye Rye in the song, as she is an experienced rapper and obviously knows her way around the recording booth.

On the less than positive notes, I really believe that Laganja has a long way to go as both a singer and a rapper. She sort of falls flat in both areas, leaving a lot more to be desired. The lyrics are hilarious and totally her oddball style of comedy, but the delivery is really strange, and doesn't fit with the more hardcore feel the beat lays down.

Although it's not quite on the same level as some of her fellow sisters, she really did put a lot more effort into this release than her previous entries. I think a fun polished video to accompany this would really make it take off. She's got people looking at her, whether it's fans or haters, and with that many eyes, something great is bound to happen. Good luck to ya mamma.

And I hope you all read that last line in Laganja's voice!

Grab the song today on iTunes.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 Episode 16 [Review]

Again, I apologize for bringing this week's review out a bit late. Due to personal circumstances both RHBH and RPDR were pushed back a day, so instead of your usual Wednesday review, I'm putting it up on my off day. So you guys better read and enjoy. Mostly because this one is a doozy. Like... A huge doozy.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 1 [Review]

It's that time again. After a short delay, I'm finally able to get this show on the road. Everyone's favorite show about cut throat drag queens (unless I missed a new show coming out, then haaaay hook me up) is finally back. We are sure to get more drama, more catfights and more... Realness. There's always realness with these girls. Well, shall we get the realness underway? Or should I sit here and promots Ru's new album more? Realness.

RuPaul Preps For Season Seven, New Untucked, And Realness

It looks like Ru wasn't kidding when he said things were about to change. It looks like this year is a total revamp to pretty much everything, including a whole new approach to Untucked, and a brand spankin' new album. It all kicks off tonight (and tomorrow, for Untucked), so you better start your engines, because in a couple months the best woman will win. Ok, so that reference didn't really work.

This is honestly my favorite RuPaul album since he first started out. It is so disco-centric but still remains current. It has everything you could ask from Ru, and it sounds so much more fuller and richer than albums in the past. I won't get into too many details on my thoughts for this, as my full review will turn up in a familiar place here in a few weeks, but I can say that I am GAGGED by the fact that we finally get to hear the full version of "Color Me Love" with Rebecca Romijn, one of his fellow judges on the fabulous reality competition series Skin Wars. They previewed the track at the reunion special, but this is the first time it's been shown in it's full beauty.

For those of you who are spoil-sports, Logo had the first episode of Drag Race up for grabs on their site before the premier. This was probably due to them having a mini tour this week to premier the show in various LGBT cities across the country, therefor creating a lot of spoilers online. I have managed to avoid all spoilers of the first episode, so don't you go ruining it for me!

There have been a couple more "sneak peek" looks at the new Untucked since I last posted. To be honest, it looks like the quality took a big step down from the previous seasons, and every clip they've played has been boring . Untucked used to be the go-to place for drama in the show. If it wasn't dealt with in the work room or on the main stage, they would bring it up in that Interior Illusions Lounge and go at it! The clips so far have been tame. I hope they don't have a season of queens who are all BFFs. Don't get me wrong, the Bianca/Courtney/Adore love triangle is adorable as hell, but without Darienne Lake, everything would have been boring as hell.

Lastly, if you head on over to Drag Queen Magazine, you can see my super shady review of the Covergurlz 2 album. No, I'm not a fan, but I think it could be a good read, anyway! Also be sure and check out the other interviews and fabulous reviews by my colleges in the magazine!

For those curious, I will be reviewing RuPaul's Drag Race season seven right here every Tuesday. The first episode, due to prior commitments, will start up on Wednesday, pushing Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' weekly review back to Thursday. The two will return to their normal time slots starting next week.
