RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 8 [Review]

It's time for one of the most wanted episode of RuPaul's Drag Race in, well, ever. OK, maybe since season three when they stopped this nonsense of bringing girls back. Well today we find out who came back, and who left -- again. Any guesses? Because we are starting this show!

We begin at the work room and everyone is pretty pissed about having a contestant come back. Katya, of them all, is probably the most pissed. I kind of like the idea, honestly, for this season, because there have been a lot of bad sashays, so it's nice to know that they are at least acknowledging it. You know?

The next day, they all go into the work room and prepare to strike until Ru appears and tells them they have company. Just when everyone thought they were going to get the eliminated queen, in walks Latrice Royale! She is here to officiate the mini challenge for this week, and it looks like it's going to be a spoof on the Netflix hit original series Orange is the New Black. They have to transform prison jump suits into fashionable works of drag art. Oh, and the first thing Latrice says is "Get those nuts away from my face!" Classic season five!

This mini challenge was stretched out a bit more than usual, but the girls actually looked pretty funny. Kennedy's ashy knees were funny, and Pearl's "meat" chest tattoo was genius. Katya "Ulga" looked very awkward with the face mask. Could she get away with that in prison? I did like her tooth brush attire. Violet went the ho route, of course, but looked the most on point. The winner was Kennedy, and I totally agree here. She had the whole bit down, and I loved every second of it.

And just like that Latrice exits, and the show moves on.

Ru teases the girls about who is coming back. He asks if they want to know who, and he invites the girl to come back, and out walks Trixie. Before they get too comfortable, the door opens, and in walks Tempest. Then Kandy. And Sahsa. And Jasmine. And Kasha. And Max. All of them. Back on the show. At once. Oh. My. God.

Looks like this week, each eliminated queen is getting paired with a current queen to see who gets to stay. Ru announces that each pair will have to be conjoined twins, with the queen currently on the show in charge of the entire look and makeover. Lord in heaven help us. Kennedy gets to pick her sister since she won, and pair up everyone else. She picks Jasmine, obviously, and proceeds to pair up everyone else. Ginger gets Sasha, Pearl is paired with Trixie, Fame gets Kandy Ho, Katya and Kasha become a team, Violet and Max go together, and last picked was Jaidynn and Tempest.

Can we say it was an obvious misstep for Kennedy to pair up Pearl and Trixie. They are friends and obviously going to mesh together well. I mean she did pretty well with the others, but Pearl is already a front runner, and she should have tried to screw her over a bit, too.

The work room was a bit uneventful. More of Miss Fame talking too much, more of Violet thinking she has it in the bag, and more Katya craziness. Bitch stole my threat, though. I am the one who spouts off arsonist nonsense. Not you. The only two that seem to have any semblance of hope to win this week is Team Pearl and Team Kennedy. The rest seem doomed for failure. Total, utter, failure.

The biggest struggle seems to be with Ginger. Her partner Sasha is of no help what so ever. She has a bit of a breakdown with Katya. Sasha really doesn't seem to care about what's going on around her at all, which is pretty sad, really.

Runway time! Category is: Joined at the hip! Or shouldter. Or vagina. Whatever.

Miss Fame and Kandy Ho - Not really feeling this one. They just look like they were walking next to each other. The dress was a no. The hair was a no. And the plastic surgery marks were just meh. Next.
Jaidynn Diore Fierce and Tempest DuJour - I wanted to like these two, but it's just a bad matchup. The look doesn't make much sense being disco divas, and they are joined vag-to-ass? It's just not believable or funny.
Kennedy Davenport and Jasmine Masters - They actually look like conjoined twins. Someone actually pulled it off. Go you. I don't care much for the dress, but they really had it together and looked pretty on point.
Pearl and Trixie Mattel - These two win, hands down. Their dress is hilarious, they look like twins. They have a great concept that is both funny and beautiful. It's a complete and total win this week.
Violet Chachki and Max - I love Max. What can I say? She is always beautiful, and when she's paired up with the fishiest queen this season, it's obvious she's going to rock the runway. I really have faith in these two now. The costume wasn't too polished, though.
Ginger Minj and Sahsa Belle - No gurl. Sorry. Just no.
Katya and Mrs. Kasha Davis - They really looked funny. They didn't look the best of get the most laughs, but Katya is definitely safe to see another day.

The tops and bottoms have never been more obvious. Violet and Pearl are on the top, and Ginger and Jaidynn are so obviously on the bottom. To the surprise of nobody Pearl wins, and Trixie is invited back to the competition. And just like I said, Ginger and Jaidynn are both up to lip sync. I hate to say it, but the rumor is nobody can survive three lip syncs, and this is Ms. Diore Frierce's third time up. So nobody is really shocked when she's the one sent home. The lip sync was fun at least.
