Top Five - What TOTU Missed In 2014

Admittedly, for most of 2014, Taking Over The Universe was out of commission. There was so much that happened in the first three quarters of the year that I didn't have the chance to comment on, so I decided that the first day of 2015 will be dedicated to me missing out on all the greatness that was this previous year. I've selected five things that are the biggest regrets I have as for what I missed this past year.

5. "The Pee Pee Dance" by Adam Barta (Featuring Vivacious)

Oh, Adam. You never fail to make me laugh. This video was passed along to me just before the return, but by the time I cleared time for it, Adam has moved onto his next big thing. This video is probably my favorite of Adams in the past few years because it's both funny, and done on his own. Sure it had Drag Race vet Vivacious turning up, but the song itself is all Adam. This is what I'd been asking for. No Octomom. No Tan Mom. No Angelina. No fake Kim Kardashian. Just Adam. This is the real way I wanted to start off the year.

Top Five: Most Wanted For 2013

It's a new year, and there is so much out of it that I really want. There are so many things that were promised over the course of 2012 that just didn't happen -- whether it was due to lack of a budget, a busy schedule, or just stupid rumors. But could these things happen in 2013? There's still eleven and a half months left for these guys to make their move. Let's take a look at my Most Wanted list for this year!

5. XELLE to release "Hologram" Music Video

This video has been soooo long in the making. Originally said to be coming out in March 2012, it got pushes back to October, and then again to "very soon" status. The trailer reveals next to nothing about the video other than it has a list of guest stars longer than an Adam Barta music video. It claims to be a new breed of video, but other than "choose wisely" being tacked on at the end, it doesn't say what else is going to happen. This one is so high up on the list mainly because we know it's going to happen. They have been consistently releasing things in place of this video, but still keeping the fans pumped about it. But when will it really be released. Let's hope for this year.

Top Ten: GaoSalad's Favorite Albums Ever (Part Two)

So last Sunday I dropped the bomb on you (baby) by telling you some of my rather shocking favorite albums of all time. Some of them I know aren't the greatest, but I just can't help myself. Pop music is an addiction -- but not all of these bad boys are of the pop variety. Prepare for the shock and awe of my Top Five(ish) albums EVER! Well for now. It will probably change next week. Or maybe I had a brain fart. Anyway, commence the listing!

05. The Sounds - Dying To Say This To You

See! I told you that it wouldn't be all pop! The Sounds are basically my generation's Blondie, only without the massive fame and street cred. Their lead singer, Maja, was featured in that Snakes On A Plane Song that Cobra Starship did before they turned to crap, and from there I stumbled upon this album. As a matter of fact, all of their albums are really well done. The first two, this being one of them, were more rock focused, while the last two have really mellowed out. The only reason I chose this album, as well as placed it so high on the list, is due to me knowing every word to every song on this CD. Yes, people, I have my nostalgia goggles on right now. Bite me.
