Cherie Lily Has A New Single Coming And I Like It

If you don't know who Cherie Lily is we can't be friends. There. I said it. Cherie Lily, who has blossomed and made a name for herself far beyond the title of "Andrew W.K.'s Wife", is a beautiful pop star who knows how to make some serious music. Well she didn't take much of a break from dominating features on Cazwell's last album before announcing her newest single "I Like It".

I don't know if there's any better way to go about this than to say the cheesy line "I Like It". It sums up my feeling towards the small snippet we have available of it right now. The song is very much what you would expect from someone who is very fitness oriented, and if you hit the gym, this is the song you need on your playlist to get you through that last home stretch. This track is a collaboration with a DJ named Vjuan Allure, and I have to say I've never heard of this one, but I certainly want to hear more.

But Wait! There's more! Apparently she's taken the time to prepare a music video too. While we only have a 30 second clip of it for the time being (via iTunes, link below), it's clear we are in for a treat. Produced by Jeanne Jo, this video looks like it might be more of a workout video than a music video, and as far as we are concerned, that's just fine. I, for one, can't wait to see it in it's entirety.

Unfortunately for those of us who are impatient, we have a bit of a wait ahead of us. The single and video are released together on Friday, August 21. That's a grueling two weeks. But you can help her out now by preordering it on iTunes and get her on the charts. She'll appreciate it, I'm sure, and you'll most certainly like it.

Album Review: Cazwell - Hard 2 Be Fresh [#TheReturn Day Six]

It's been a long time since I've reviewed an album. I knew when I saw this album pop up for pre-order, I knew I had to give it a go. Luckily the timing was perfect for #TheReturn, so we will get to see what I can come up with for this gem. This album has been a long time coming, and it also features one of my favorite lovelies -- Cherie Lily. Hellz yeah! Let's get into this.

Cherie Lily Serves Sex Appeal In New Video "Body"

Cherie Lily has always been one of my favorites. She has been werking her way around the greater California area, but as far as I am concerned (a busy man in the midwest), she has been gone from the scene for some time. Well she's back to remind us all why we love her -- because she's sexy of course!

This video is hot! There's no way around it. It has something for pretty much everyone. It has buff dudes,it has queens that know how to vogue, and it has Cherie Lily, one of the hottest ladies of all time. I mean c'mon! What more could you ask for? There isn't a plot, mostly just Cherie and her ladyboys performing some sick choreography. The whole ordeal is presented in pseudo-wide screen with the "bars" at the top and bottom being close-ups of the muscle hunks she teased us with at the beginning of the video.

I do have to say that "Body" isn't my favorite track from her debut EP. I was hoping for something more along the lines of "Do Your Thing Girl", but beggars can't be choosers. The song isn't bad by any means on it's own. It is a fun track that makes you want to get up and move, and that's exactly what fitness nut Lily is all about.

It's great to have her back in the spotlight and awesome to see her back on the site. I know she has some new music in the works, and if you've seen her live, you've probably got a taste of what she's got in store. As for the rest of us, we will have to wait until she releases the song -- or maybe gives me more information. Keep hope, guys. Cherie isn't giving up. Not by a long shot!

Controversey! Have We Heard Britney's New Track Before?

So the never-ceasing Miss Britney Spears released a new track recently called "Work Bitch". As I listened to this song, I got the weird feeling that I'd heard it before. At the end, she repeats "work" over and over in a sort of robotic fashion. Where have I heard this before? Oh yeah. This remind anybody else of Cherie Lily?

Ok, let's be fair here in the beginning."Work" is a common word, and the bit of the Britney track is literally the tail end of the song. That doesn't change the fact that they sound pretty much the same, especially from a vocal standpoint. Both of them repeat it in the same speed, and they both say it in the same static manner with the same electronic effects added to their voice. The only difference is that Cherie came several years before hand.

This video was brought to my attention by Cherie's husband Andrew W.K., so as you can imagine, I wasn't sure if it would be biased -- or even serious. After reviewing it myself, I'm a bit torn. It does have a similarity, but it also could easily be a coincidence. This isn't like Vanilla Ice blatantly taking the exact beat from another song, this is two artists who have seemingly separately created a very similar vocal segment. The other side of me knows Cherie is fierce and many artists probably try and copy her style, so why wouldn't Britney want to be like her?

Personally, I wish the rumors about the track sampling RuPaul's classic "Supermodel" had been true. Unfortunately we've been left with a mediocre track that you'll probably be force fed over the radio. How's that for a soapbox, people?

Sexy Remix For Cherie Lily's "Body"

Man... anybody (straight OR gay for that matter) who doesn't think Cherie Lily is sexy needs to get their eyes checked. This girl is all about fitness and keeping her body perfect, which is what the track "Body" off of her debut EP "Dripping Wet" is all about. Don't believe me? Let's see how many other artists take a video with a usually unforgiving webcam in tight swimwear.

Two things are spot on about this video. The first, as I mentioned before, is that her metaphorical balls are so huge for her to release a video of herself dancing in front of a webcam (even if she has the body to do it). Secondly is that the remix for "Body", provided by Vjuan Allure, is sickening. It keeps that distinct drum set that I crave from the song that I love, but puts a new extended dance vibe to it that was missing from before.

This is already the EP's top selling track, and I'm sure it will only continue to succeed. I personally hope this will be her next single to get the video treatment. If she could come up with this with just a few minutes and a computer camera, imagine what she could do with a budget! Also, when can I get this remix? Here's to hoping at least that is released for us.

On a much less professional note -- dat ass.

You can grab the original version of the track, as well as the other twelve sizzling songs from "Dripping Wet" on iTunes!

Album Review - Cherie Lily "The Dripping Wet EP"

It's been too long since I've seen Cherie Lily around the TOTU block. This fitness guru turned pop star (and did I mention she's married to THE Andrew W.K. ?) released a hot single last year called "Dripping Wet", driving me crazy with it's sexy video. Now, after an extended absence from my radar, she is back with a steamy new EP. Get into "The Dripping Wet EP".

Cherie Lily is "Dripping Wet"

Apparently there is a lot going on in the music world that escapes my attention. Thankfully, I have friends like Pollo Del Mar who keep me in the loop. The queen of "Houserobics" is back with another amazing track. Cherie Lily is about to leave you "Dripping Wet" -- and yes, even you, my loyal gay readers. Check it.

Before you ask, yes those are spikes sticking out of her breasts, and no I have no idea why. He fashion is actually great throughout the video. From the glasses to the black hair highlighted with an array of pinks and oranges, she looks great throughout this promo. To be honest, the fashion really isn't the focus of this video. It's all about the sex appeal.

I am sure she is fully aware that her clothes aren't exactly the focus of the shoot. There are so many almost naked sweaty men and women (dem firefighters!) sprinkled throughout this video, making it appealing to almost anybody. Well, anybody who likes hyper sexed up people who are sweating and ready to pounce. Damn, I just had Hyper Crush "Werk Me" flashbacks.

The song itself is really amazing, too. The song is just as sexualized as the video is, but the beat is so catchy and she has some great vocals. I really can't wait to hear more from Cherie, and seeing as she's gotten almost 7,000 hits in just a few days, she is definitely on her way to going viral. Let's hope we see this song get the notoriety it deserves -- and gets on iTunes soon to qualify for Song of the Week!
