Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Season 5 Episode 19 [Finale Review]

Thank the lord up in the sky that this season is finally wrapping up. There has been more drama than ever. You know, usually some event happens early in the season and that's all they talk about, but not these ladies. It's literally a new problem every week. At least the roller coaster is going around it's final turn and about to reach crazy town (which would be the reunion).

The episode picks up immediately where we left off last week with Kim and Kyle at Kyle's vacation home. The two seem like they are OK, but it's obvious that not all the issues were resolved. I guess we can say they were far better now. They reflected on the night passed and decided to move forward with the ordeal.

Meanwhile, we get to see how Lisa R is handing her own family. She was deconstructing the kids' swingset because they are now too old for it. Somehow things got flipped to be about her fight with Kim who she claims knows nothing bad about her family. This part felt very weird because it was such a touching moment visually, but the interviews made it a bit twisted. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

In a fun turn of events, we get to see Kyle hosting Nicky Hilton's book signing. First of all I didn't even know she had released a book and second of all I didn't know she was still relevant in the media. Well anyway, most of the girls show up, including Camille, who I completely adore. Things actually went pretty well at the party. We get to see Kim and Kyle's sister Kathy, and we even get to see Paris Hilton pop in for a bit. Did I mention I am a huge fan of Paris? Well, I am.

Kyle still feels off about the whole Kim situation, so she approaches one of the only two sane people in this group, Lisa Vanderpump, for advice. Lisa really doesn't seem to want to get involved in their problems (who would?), but she does know Brandi well, and she says that Kyle needs to be ready in case Brandi turns on Kim. I guess that's a little shady to say, but it's not unreasonable advice.

Also in case you were wondering the only other sane one is Yolanda.

After a few gossipy makeup chair moments we move onto the next social gathering that this group is sure to ruin -- Adrienne's party to launch some product that the show barely even mentions. I'm sure she's happy about how that editing played out. We have a lot of things in play here, the biggest being that Kim is sick of this game of telephone that the ladies are playing with her, but also we have Brandi who feels isolated within the group because of her father's illness.

The first issue we deal with is Brandi. Yolanda comes up to her immediately and asks her about her dad. Yolanda is such a sweet soul, and apparently she has been calling Brandi everyday. Yolanda is probably the best friend that Brandi has and yet she doesn't see it. It's pretty sad.

Next up, Lisa Vanderpump goes up to talk to her. It is very strange to see, but I think Lisa was coming from a good place, but Brandi was in no position to accept the sympathy. She was very combative with Lisa, which was not the way I saw it coming out. She wasn't trying to be best friends, but she was trying to show her that there is some caring left in her heart. Sigh.

I love Kim, don't get me wrong, but is a crowded party really the best time to confront someone? She approaches Lisa R to ask her what really happened at her dinner with Brandi. Oh. Lord. Not again. So she starts talking and midway through Kyle shows up, and thats when I all goes down hill. Kim asks point blank if Brandi said she should do an intervention. And to the surprise of the whole world, Dr. Rinna, Queen of the Truth, had nothing to say.

This is where everything starts to hit the fan. Kyle gets very upset with Lisa for not telling the truth and backing her up. From Lisa R's perspective, she really doesn't want to get into it with her any more. She said Kim told her to mind her own, and so she is. After some friendly bullying from Eileen, who has been invisible the whole episode, she finally goes up to talk to them.

Brandi is actually in the right, and honestly I think she should bask in this moment. She said as a joke that the whole group needed an intervention. She never once turned on her best friend. This is the most legit I've ever seen this woman be this season, and she deserves the win in this one. Lisa R does come up to set the record straight, but soon after there is a blowup between Kyle and Brandi again.

Well that's it folks. The show's over. What? Three more episodes? All reunions? What!?

OK, so I knew that. But as far as the main action it's done. We can all take a breather for a moment and think about what's to come. Will anybody leave the show? If anybody does, it will either be Lisa Vanderpump (who has another show to fall back on if she's sick enough of these ladies) or Eileen, who really wasn't too big of a player in anything this year. Actually, I think Eileen being as level headed as she is that she will run for the hills and get away from all these insane women.

Will we get anyone new? Well I for one am a huge advocate for bringing on Kathy Hilton. Having all three Richards sisters would be insane and we all know Kathy has some strong opinions herself as well as Kim saying she was a better sister than Kyle. It also looks like Camille is back in a good headspace and with Bethany and Dina returning to New York and New Jersey respectively, a ex-housewife coming back is not out of the question.

Well those questions will be up in the air for some months to come. What we have to focus on now is the reunion and making it through without going to the crazy house.
