Reality TV Review: RHNJ Season Five Eisodes 11 + 12

Here we have another two-fer. I decided that since neither of these episodes were very groundbreaking or shocking that I'd add them up into one post. I think it worked out. Now, there may not have been any huge cat fights, but that's not to say nothing happened. Don't believe me? Well let's take a look, shall we?

We last left off in the middle of an interesting encounter between Jacqueline and Teresa. They decided to confront one another about the past, but the thing is they are both too insane to be able to understand each other's positions.

Aaaaaand Jacqueline cries. Of course she does. Teresa gets sentimental over the past, and ensures her that she is past everything. She says she wants to just be civil and not hurt one another. Jacqueline agrees, surprisingly, and they end the meal on a higher note. They go back to the men and finish up the dinner in a friendly manner.

Scenes with Teresa playing with her children is always heartwarming. She may be insane, but at least she's a good mother. She ends up listening in on Gia talking with her friends. Apparently she's going to be hanging out with her uncle Joe today. How cute!

An odd combo of Jacqueline and Kathy are out panty shopping. They end up talking about Teresa and her charity event coming up. Teresa invited both of the girls. Things shift quickly to Jacqueline wanting a tummy tuck in California. Alright then.

Back at Teresa's Joe finally makes an appearance to pick up his niece. He decides to take her go-karting. The two of them are so adorable together. They eventually segway into an awkward conversation about teenager attitudes. Gia brings up the fighting, and kind of blames Joe for everything. How awkward. She even brought up that kids at school teased her about her uncle being on TV.

Oh and Greg the gay roommate shows up for his first appearance this season. Apparently he found a job in San Francisco. He was a fan favorite, and many a gay man's crush. I mean have you seen those Grindr-esque undies pics? Damn.

Now that everything seems to be patched up with the Teresa/Kathy/Joe clan, they are going to spend more time together. They all convene at Teresa's house and reminisce as they see how much older the kids have gotten in the span of time they've been fighting.

In all the seasons of Real Housewives I've watched, never has a single segment brought me such an uplifting feeling. We've spent so long with these families at war with one another, and seeing them all start to mend all of the fences, and for real this time, was just so heartwarming.

Teresa is still on her quest to understand what a Sociopath is. This causes an awkward position for them all, broken by Teresa's Joe with a stripper joke. Thin ice, they are all walking on.

The dancing is pretty funny, but mostly just a montage. Ah well.

And suddenly we are reminded that Caroline is still on this show. 30 minutes in and she finally shows up for Greg's going away party. Caroline gets teary eyed saying goodbye and gives him a parting gift of a framed photo to remind him of his friends back home.

So Jacqueline goes to Cali to get her tummy tuck. Her daughter Ashlee is waiting there for her after being missing for a long while from the show. Last season she sent her off to California to get her own life. She seems much more grown up now.

Theres lots of boring Jacqueline stuff. I'm not a fan. Spoiler alert! She doesn't die.

EPISODE 12

We begin this episode with another Teresa/Melissa shared segment. It still feels a bit weird that they are friends now, but I don't want to ruin the moment. From the looks of the promos, it could be a short-lived peace again. She shows her the book cover, and she knows that Teresa hates it despite her nice words. She brings up the cheating accusations, and brings up Kim D's antics again.

Jacqueline returns to reveal her new body. She's happy to see her kids, especially Nick who has been asking for her non stop and was unable to understand why his mother was gone.

More Kathy drama with her husband Rich. He keeps talking over her and not letting her try and make the pastry deals on her own. I can see this not going well in the near future.

All the hubbies decide to get together to have a group man-date to gossip (apparently). Quickly the conversation turns sexual. Ugh. I don't like scenes without my girls. Anyway, they plan a birthday party for Melissa in Arizona at some high class spas. Even Teresa is involved. I guess that was the point of this part. Who knows?

Caroline's marriage seems to be suffering. They have been fighting a lot, and things aren't looking too good. I certainly hope they aren't the first RHNJ divorce, because that would be a huge shock. Kathy's another one on the ropes, but I don't foresee a divorce so soon. I think they can work it out.

Melissa and Joe show up next a a hooka bar. What? Anyway, Joe talks about his present for Melissa to her, and he tells her that he wants to invite Teresa and Joe. And to that, she replies a whiny "Why?" I lost it! That was the most hilarious thing I've seen on this show.

The rest of the crew shows up to get the party started. Melissa can't handle her hooka, which is pretty funny, and then they go ahead and announce the spa trip.  He says it's a great plan because everyone gets along on vacation. Flashback to Teresa and Kathy fighting with their rancid floppy hats. Also there was the RV trip. Oh lord. The short memories of these people.

Teresa's hair product line is launching, and the people who talked crap about Melissa are going, so she invites her to get the confrontation out of the way. She ensures that she has Melissa's back, and she's not going to let her go in there alone. Melissa isn't completely sold, but she's going to try and go through with it for now.

Oh god. Kim D is back. Doesn't Teresa know how to get rid of bad news when she sees it? I know that she is friends with her, but Kim just starts crap over and over, and her face when she said Melissa was invited was obviously not one of excitement. Every time Teresa says something -- anything -- about Melissa Kim looks less than thrilled.

At the launch party, everyone arrives in a timely manner, even the devils Jan and Penny who have been spreading these rumors. Speaking of rumors, queen of them all Kim D is there of course. Does anybody else miss Kim G? She was the better Kim. Melissa sees her antagonist out of the corner of her eye and everything gets awkward.

Kim D immediately pulls Melissa over to try and settle the waters, but in the middle, Jan walks up. Things get very tense, and Melissa wasn't going to do anything about it, but Jan calls her out. That's when the catfight starts. Of course Teresa doesn't jump in to help and lets them go at it. As a matter of fact, they keep cutting to Teresa who has the most awkward look on her face.

Next up is Penny, the other culprit. She fully admits she talked crap about Melissa and is not friends with Teresa. That's settled. So we have a person who's never even met Melissa making up stuff about her. This is looking faker and faker by the minute. I don't think Melissa cheated what-so-ever.

Teresa won't leave Penny and Melissa alone, making herself look suspicious. It's obvious who was asking these questions. I guess we will have to wait a little longer to get the full truth. I hope it doesn't re-destroy this family.
