Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Season 6 Episode 3 [Review]

The one remaining review show I have left comes just one day after the announcement of the big purge. Though I would have liked the rid myself of all reviews throughout the holiday season, I just couldn't let this one go. You know what they say, Beverly Hills is where the heart it. Well at least Lisa Vanderpump probably says that.

The episode started out with Kyle being rich yet again. I know it's probably getting exhausted hearing me complain about her, but to be honest it's pretty exhausting watching her. There are next to no redeemable qualities about her as a television personality. She's got money, but no personality and the only interesting thing about her (IE her sisters and their drama), are far too often pushed out of the picture as to not tarnish her lovely facade. We've been watching you for close to six years now, Richards, get over it.

Thankfully the vacation doesn't take up much of this episode, and after Vanderpump whisks herself away in a private helicopter to take her and her husband to Monte Carlo, this horrible excuse for a segment came to a quick end. But that's not where the annoyance ended. No sir. We also got to see a good deal of her back in Beverly Hills, as she met up with Eileen and Lisa Rinna to have lunch. I honestly love Rinna and Eileen's friendship. They seem to have a genuine connection. The addition of Kyle here was just too weird because she was completely out of place.

To liven up the lunch, they talk about the only thing about Kyle that is interesting -- her sister. It was kind of hard to listen to them all jump in on Kim because I've been a long time supporter of her. Addiction is a hard battle and there are often backslides, but it was so odd that Kyle didn't stand up for her at all. All these years she spent trying to convince everyone that she was the perfect sister and here she is joining in on a conversation that was only about media reports and not what Kyle knew personally. And hilariously enough, in her interviews she said she felt bad for talking about hers sister. Yeah, lady. Just sip that wine and go on with yourself.

This week we were introduced to the newest housewife Erika Girardi. She was apparently a good friend of Yolanda who was reduced to background character and shady topic for this week. The two of them seemed to get along so well, and it was kind of a relief to see Yolanda have someone in her corner after everyone seemed to gravitate away from her in her sickness. This version of Erika (you'll see what I mean in a second) was very kind and generous. She seemed like a really good friend.

Flash forward mid way through the episode and you find out her husband is not only completely loaded, but really old too. I only say this because she brings up that she's been called a gold digger and to be honest, it really looks like it. She said she started from nothing as a waitress. Well now she's struck gold with a rich, famous lawyer husband who provides everything for her. I really tried not to judge her, but seeing the complete flip in personalities was jarring to say the least. That would be enough to catch someone off guard if she didn't have even a third personality emerge at the end of this rollercoaster episode.

Enter: Erika Jayne. Apparently she's a pop singer too. I don't even know how to begin taking her all in. In her interviews not only does she sound different and much more snarky, but she also looks like a completely different person. I mean from the "friend" mode, to the "wife mode", to the "pop star" mode, this girl has yet to show the same face twice. I don't know if that is amazing or horrifying.

Now let's talk about Lisa Vanderpump. Honestly I don't even know if I would care for the show as dearly as I do today if not for her. If you recall, I started out flat out hating Lisa V. By last year she had grown on me greatly, but it wasn't until my discovery of how amazing Vanderpump Rules is that I fell for her fully. This season she is oddly enough one of the voices of reason, trying to keep the peace between the growing factions of this year's cast.

Lucky for us, most of the episode was about her. Well, to be fair it was mostly about her trying to throw Ken the best party ever. They had a great segment -- the best in the season yet -- where she and Lisa R went to Ohio to try and get the world's smallest horse for Ken's 70th birthday. Unfortunately when they got there it wasn't all they thought it would be. After a lengthy discussion and even calling Ken to ruin the surprise, she ended up not taking it home.

The back luck for Lisa continued at his birthday party where even after all the guests showed up, including former cast members Taylor and Camille, things became a bit of a disaster. No amount of hideously beautiful hats or gorgeous scenery can stop the rain, and after waiting it out as long as they could, the party went inside. In the end things turned out ok, with everyone jumping in the pool and swimming in their all white dresses. Even Ken got in on the action and made out like a bandit on his birthday. Good for him. I like seeing the happier, funnier side of Ken on this show.

There were a few things that happened at the end of the episode that the promos were hyping up to be amazing that totally fell flat. First there was Taylor's pointless badmouthing of Yolanda and her selfies. At this point Taylor is irrelevant. I know it is going to boost the whole "Is she faking" storyline they are going for in the hopes of topping RHOC, but really? Taylor is the catalyst? Yawn. There was also Ken being pushed into the pool which every promo made look like was going to be huge, but he simply laughed it off. It was no big deal. Basically the promo duped you into watching the whole episode to see what the big deal was about. That's Bravo for you.

This week was kind of a boring episode. If not for the introduction of Erika and the whole miniature horse fiasco, it would have been a complete waste. At least the Lisas are always around when we need a good laugh. I'm excited to see where this is going. We have Erika, and now we gotta wait and see how Kathryn is going to fit into the mix. Actually, we haven't seen Erika interact with anyone other than Yolanda yet, so that should be fun too. Until next time!
