Below Deck Season 3 Episode 12 [Review]

The season is winding down, but the drama sure isn't. Things are always going on with this crew, and it looks like things are reaching a boiling point. They've been stuck on this boat with each other for close to six weeks now, and they are certainly getting sick of one another. This is apparent this week more than any other. Let's get this drama roller coaster started.

The main plot of this episode centers around Rocky. If you want to stop reading right now, I completely understand. It looks like Rocky had gotten completely fed up with being treated like crap by Eddie, so she decided that it was time to confide in someone. And who does she pick? Emile. Really girl? There were so many better choices for who you could tell than this guy. He is a sloppy drunk, he has a hot head, and he flips on situations quickly. Was he really the best person to go and tell?

Emile seemed pretty calm and supportive, but obviously he was jealous of Eddie. He had his eyes on Rocky from day one, so why wouldn't he be pissed? That's another reason she shouldn't have told him of all people because he was completely in love with her. He tells her he is disappointed in the whole situation, and it puts him in a whole weird funk for the rest of the charter, even to the point to where he calls Connie (not entirely unprovoked) a whore and to get back to her job. He eventually did apologize for saying that in front of both Eddie and Captain Lee.

Rocky came very close to telling Amy about the whole mess at the beginning of the charter, too, but held her tongue. Amy is such a kind and compassionate person who has been there for Rocky the whole time. Amy would have been a much better person to tell because she wouldn't have spilled the beans to anyone, and she's chock full of great advice. Unfortunately Rocky is an idiot.

The charter guests this go around were pretty terrible it seems. The main guy, who's name I didn't even bother to take down, was a self-made millionaire. Weirdly enough, he seemed very entitled and douchey. Go figure. Apparently he was really bad at talking to the ladies, and is pretty bossy too. Again, go figure.

As for the ladies on the charter, they seemed to be a bit more fun than the dull millionaire douche. They saw how hot Emile was, and asked if he could take them out on the jet skis. Another of the ladies suggested they see the whole lineup before they choose. Smart woman. They pulled out Eddie and Dave to be models as well before making their decisions. It was a fun little bit to lighten up the otherwise dramatic episode.

I won't say they were the charter guest from hell, but they weren't easy ones either. Between sending food back and getting overly drunk, they obviously were new to this scene. It was also really unclear why the ladies were even there, as they seemed pretty repulsed by the main guest. Oh well. Not my business I guess.

The Kate/Ben drama was dialed way back this week. They did have their usual little spats at one another, but it was nothing like in the previous week. They did a lot of flirting, and even discussed wanting to have families. Kate was pretty surprised when Ben said he would want to have kids, but it didn't seem enough to make her really want to jump at him again like last year. Things seemed to be looking up for the two of them before the subject turned.

The new topic of discussion: Rocky. Of course it was about Rocky. Who else would they possibly talk about. All season long this woman has plagued me in an otherwise amazing television show. She's annoying, rude, and unattractive. Sorry, but I've reached my limits with dealing with this woman. So had Kate, apparently, when Ben said they should give her a break. Kate reminded him that they had been doing her job for her all charter long, and that it was just a bad idea in general. Rocky then proved Kate right by showing up at the beach party for the guests as a mermaid and doing nothing to help, instead flopping around on the sand like a dead fish. Good job girl.

Back at the boat, Emile had become a complete train wreck. He was going off on people (like he did with Connie), and he was overall just being a jerk. He really wanted to confront Eddie for reasons unknown. He rushed out to take care of one of the small boats coming loose form the side of the yacht and fell into the ocean. He was too distracted to work at the time, and things were about to get too heated for anyone's good.

In the last minutes of the episode Rocky had another stroke of genius (Or maybe just a normal stroke), and decided that it was a good idea to tell more people about her affair with Eddie. She cornered Amy in the bathroom and spilled everything to her. Amy was completely shocked, and tried to remain supportive. Before long, Emile showed up, asking if she needed someone to stand up for her. Obviously he wasn't going to listen to her answer, because even though he was told to stay quiet, he already had started moving out of the room to go and talk to Eddie.

Oh. Hell. No.

And that's where the episode ended.

Next week is the finale. We finally get to see the big confrontation where everyone finds out about Eddie and Rocky, as well as tying up a few loose ends. I am very interested to see how this ends up. So many friendships have been made this charter season, while even more have been broken. The ride is coming to an end, but I'm sure there are more bumps along the way.
