It's the last day for 2012, and I plan on going out the only way I know how -- by highlighting all the crazy madness that goes on around this joint. Over the past twelve months tons of whacky shenanigans have gone down, ranging from stories involving some ultimate shade to haters doing what they do best. Now let's start off with the best, the better, and the worst of the year.
5. Blood On The Dancefloor Battles Rumors
For starters, this October goth-glam group Blood on the Dance Floor experienced a bit of prejudice when it came to some items from their past. In a removed post from Buzznet whom were given the exclusive premier of their new video to, they bashed the band and lead singer Dahvie's past.

Universal Conquest Awards: The 2012 Winners
The time has finally come! The polls have been down for a couple of days, but getting anything done over the Christmas holidays is nearly impossible. Finally, after a bit of help from a friend and resourcefulness on my own end, the UCAs have come to a close. The winners are below, but first, I would like to take the time to be a little sentimental and sappy.
This year, I exceeded my goals not only once, but twice. Last year, I only received around 150 votes. This goes to show you how far things have come over the past year. This time around, my goal was to have at least two hundred votes for Song of the Year -- and I doubled it. Thanks to you, the readers and the artists who Facebook, tweeted, and called up their relatives (yes, it happened), the song of the year category alone got over 400 votes, and if you were to tally up all the votes from all the categories, TOTU scored over 1,000 votes. I cannot express how grateful I am for your continued support and love.
Now for the winners -- some of them may surprise you.

Song of the Week - I Need A Doctor
Adam Barta is back again with a new track. No more is he going to release just one song a year. This guy is ready to start churning and turning it out, and he's got some great up-and-coming talent at his side this time around. It's time for "I Need A Doctor" by Adam Barta and L.A. Kid.
This song is written by Adam himself with beats made custom by KC Styles, and the entire reason it was crafted was for Adam to pay tribute to his close and dear friend Nadya "Octomom" Suleman. This queen of controversy has recently entered rehab for her anxiety problems, and the song is a reflection on the more personal side that Barta has seen of Suleman... But don't let that make you think the song is some slow boring ballad. This is Adam Barta we are talking about, after all. It's gotta be dance.
Joining Adam on this track is Chris Snail, assuming the name LA Kid, for a rap bit towards the end of the song. He already started making a name for himself by starring on the Sony reality tv series "Mommy XXX", but this song showcases his full talent as he rolls off a rap quick enough to give Nicki Minaj a run for her money.
Adam released a statement to go along with the track, which truly sums up my feelings towards the track:

"The words will speak for themselves and people will have to listen VERY carefully to really interpret what it is saying. I wanted Nadya to know that I love her so much by writing this just for her, because to me, music can cure the soul. This chronicles the struggles and triumphs she has endured recently. The world will be her oyster when she is done and we may be back in the studio to work on new music together, or we may focus on performing "Sexy Party" like everyone has been waiting to see."
The track is already climbing both the dance and all inclusive iTunes charts. Buy it up and make sure this song hits the top.

Octomom, Barta, Angelina and More Debate Online
Now-a-days, being a celebrity is about more than being in music or movies. It's about personality. It's about interacting with fans, whether it be via Twitter, Facebook, or their own websites. Luckily for us, we live in a digital age where you don't have to be in the same city as our favorite celeb to get a piece of them. The fame-craze has just gotten bigger, it would seem, with the debut of a website that allows you to not only speak with them, but also to debate with them.
New social media site Deeyoon is all about debates. As long as you have a webcam and a microphone for your computer, you can participate. The site covers a wide array of topics from sports to politics, allowing anybody to voice their opinion on what they think. There are very few rules (like don't get naked, guys), allowing for people to express themselves, no matter how unpopular their opinion may be. People can click "agree" under those they side with, to determine a winner for each room, meaning you don't have to be on cam to participate.
Recently, the site got a huge boost when an array of celebrities, reality and music alike, have agreed to appear on the website to debate both with each other and fans (and probably haters, too). The long list of names includes my buddy and established singer Adam Barta, MTV's resident Jersey Shore bitch Angelina Pivarnick, do-er of all things media related Nadya "Octomom" Suleman, former Real Housweife Alex McCord, and many others.
In the preview I have seen, Adam Barta and Angelina Pivarnick (shown in the video above) went toe to toe debating gay marriage. The whole ordeal was very intense, and both of them stood their ground regardless of what the other had to say. I really have always loved Angelina -- I'm always a fan of the bitchy girls who never apologize for doing what they do, but I was saddened to hear her views on the matter. Things get very heated towards the end when Angelina uses the fact that she isn't gay as her defense for being against the matter, causing Barta to go on an extended rant where he informed her that the laws aren't up to her, and we all walk away learning that taxes are important.
These stars are not shy about their opinions, and they are ready to let loose. The madness all starts October 28th. Get on over to Deeyoon now and set up your account so you aren't late for all the action. And don't be afraid to voice your own views on world issues while you wait for the big names to make their debut.
What would you debate about? Would you go on there saying New York City is the worst of the Real Housewives franchise versus McCord? How about getting Pivarnick riled up by saying Jersey Shore was better without her? Now is your chance! Not that I am encouraging you to be a huge troll or anything like that.

Song of the Week - Sexy Party
What can I say? I'm an Adam Barta fan. Don't judge me.
When asked for my honest opinion of the song from Adam himself, I said simply that the song was "not as bad as I expected." Sounds mean, I know, but I didn't really have high hopes for the song, especially after hearing that mess that a certain "teen mom" calls a song. Luckily, Octomom was in good hands with both Barta, Mig, and Rizzo. She may not be a talented singer, but in today's world who is?
The song is a hot mess, but in the best way possible. It is chock full of autotune and pulsing beats that force you to sing and dance along with it whether you want to or not. Lyrically, it is what you can expect from a song titled "Sexy Party". It pretty much just demands you join them in their super sexy party, complete with rhymes that center around counting, to make it easier for you.
All kidding aside, I do enjoy the song for what it is, or else I wouldn't have picked it this week. Check it out. You'll either love it, or want to burn it with fire.

Adam Barta Re-Releases "V.I.P." -- And I Know Why!
It's been a long road for Mr. Barta, but it looks like things have paid off. Recently, you may have noticed that his top selling single, "V.I.P." has vanished from all online retailers. Luckily after being gone less than a month, the song is back complete with updated cover art. But Why? I've got the scoop!
It all boils down to legal issues. The profits from the track were not being directed to Adam. After a long process, he was able to get the rights to his song back, but in order for the transfer to take place, it had to be taken down from iTunes and re-processed through the system. Until the song had been pulled, EsNtion, his previous record label, had been getting all of the proceeds from the song, despite the fact that they went bankrupt before paying for the rights to the song. In the end, Adam was able to wrangle back control of his biggest hit to date -- Until next week when that sexy Octomom duet drops!
Being the annoying media hound I am, I asked Barta to put his own plug in on the track:

Being the annoying media hound I am, I asked Barta to put his own plug in on the track:
"This is really exciting for me. Of all my songs I've done,
this one seems to resonate the most with people. It's been on
"Bad Girls Club" on multiple seasons, "Real World", even "Real L Word"
on Showtime. I think the reason is because it's such a great feel good song.
Aaron Cobbett who directed the fabulous (and #2 Logo) music video for it
once said, "it's a great 'walking' song". It makes you wanna strut down a
runway and feel fabulous even if you are in your living room. You can
walk on the treadmill to it. And you can party to it and feel silly and good.
I love that I'm finally able to share this with people on iTunes. I hope
everyone will download it. If you are a fan of "Bad Girls Club", it's a must!"

The track is currently available on iTunes complete with two remixes. Already bought it? BUY IT AGAIN! Support your favorite artists. Adam Barta isn't one of your favorite artists? Then why did you read this!?
Next Tuesday is when it all goes down. TMZ has been following it piece by piece, and with a media storm brewing, you can bet I'll be right there putting in my two cents. Next week is when "Sexy Party" hits digital retailers. Things are about to explode for our friend here!

Octomom Bares All With Barta For Album Cover
Not too long ago, Adam Barta announced his new song would be a collaboration with non other than tabloid sensation Nadya Suleman, AKA Octomom. Recently the cover has been unveiled, and it is something crazy all together. Always late to the party, I'm here to throw my two cents in on the cover for "Sexy Party".
Yup. Octomom is naked. Luckily Adam is there to cover up this epic wardrobe malfunction with his ever fashionable reach-around. God, that sounds wrong no matter how you say it, doesn't it? The crosses combined with the very adult imagery is very reminiscent of Madonna (or for those of you uneducated on pop music, her copycat Lady Gaga). After being on the net for nearly a week, it still shocks me every time I see it.
The song is produced by Mig and Rizzo, and was written by Adam himself. Ocotomom's part, from what I've spied on Twitter, seems to be a rap part, and has been reworked recently to "make it perfect." The original release date was August 1st, but has been pushed back to September 4th. The push back, I am told, was necessarily to make sure the song sounded as polished as possible, and in order to gain more hype for the track before it releases.
How much more hype can you get than with Octoboobies?

Update: Octomom and Barta Record Next Week!
It's official. Ms. Suleman and Mr. Barta are making a song together. I know it had been discussed previously, but it now looks like it is a definite. People are still buzzing about it, and not everybody is sure she can pull it off, but this blogger is keeping high hopes. Check below for details.
If you are a Twitter hound like I am, you might have caught Adam's tweet about hitting the recording studio. In case you missed it, Adam and Nadya will be convening at an undisclosed recording studio to lay down vocals for a yet-to-be-named single. This will be "Ocotomom's" first go at singing, so who knows how the end result will turn out.
As for the song itself, I went directly to the source to ask Adam himself. He let me in on some little known info, including the song being produced by Mr. Mig (Who you may know from his work with Beyonce and Taylor Swift) and Mike Rizzo. Both of these guys know exactly what they are doing in the music world, which should hopefully put a more positive light on the project when it comes to those who have been skeptical thus far.
"[I am] Majorly excited to have Mig and Rizzo on board again (they produced "Give Yourself Up")," says Barta, exclusively to TOTU, "it's gonna be another Billboard chart topping smash for sure!"
Do you have questions for him yourself? Maybe you would just like to see just how sweet he can be? You're in luck, because he has been added to a new site where fans can call in and speak to their favorite celebrities. Check out Adam's page on Dial-A-Star!

Adam Barta Teams Up With... Octomom!?
She's in the tabloids constantly, and she is always in the public eye. Nadya Suleman, known to the public as "Octomom" has had her share of controversies, but that isn't my thing. Thankfully, she is about to move on to what is my thing. No, she's not doing porn (she's already declined that). She is going into music.
Originally thought to be just a joke when she dropped the line "...They want to sign me instead of you!" in Adam Barta's new music video for "Q&A", she has recently announced through RumorFix that she really is going to be working on a song with Adam. I guess that answers the question of exactly who Adam was hinting to in our interview last week.
It all boils down to how the fans feel about this. Adam fans should be excited, because his streak of one single per year is about to be broken (love ya Adam, but you need to pick up the pace!). Fans of Ms. Octomom, however, may be a little concerned. I've not yet heard her sing, so I'll keep my mind open. What I do know is that Adam and Nadya are friends in real life, then again what reality star is he not on good terms with, and that means they should have some great chemistry together in the studio.
I know I am excited about this one, and I'll be bringing it to all of you as soon as I can get my hands on it. Keep your eyes peeled. They're calling it a Summer jam, and Summer is right around the corner.
