Mrs. Kasha Davis' New Video "Seasoned Queen" Tells It Like It Is

Mrs. Kasha Davis is fabulous. She was featured on the most recent season of RuPaul's Drag Race and made her mark on the world by making sure that she let everybody see what a classic drag queen looked like. Now she has her second single, along with a new video, titled "Seasoned Queen" and it's all about just that -- being classic, classy, and maybe even a little c*nty.

The song, featuring my good friend Adam Barta, is a very fun and catchy tune. What is really fun about it, is that Kasha knows she isn't the best singer out there, but she definitely has put in the hours to practice and at least learn the fundamentals of it all, making a nice improvement over her previous single "Cocktail". Unlike many other drag songs, it isn't an on-purpose train wreck, making it vastly more enjoyable than a lot of whats out there. The lyrics really help it out too, with her subtly calling out her fellow Drag Race sisters from winner Violet Chachki all the way down the line to even Gia Gunn.

"Seasoned Queen" as a video really reminds me of some of the recent RuPaul videos. There's lots of colorful outfits, big hair, and green screen shenanigans going on. There's also a lot of double/triple vision effects too, which is a fun way to fill up an otherwise half empty screen. The editing was on point, and it even featured a few cameos from other RPDR ladies such as Pandora Boxx, Alaska, and Kennedy Davenport, as well as some non-tv personalities like fellow New York queen Aggy Dune and Kasha's husband dubbed Mr. Kasha Davis. How cute!

So is this the best song ever? Probably not. Is it a super fun romp? Hell yes! This is the song that literally defines RuPaul's Drag Race season seven. Anybody who watched, loved, and enjoyed the previous season of Logo's top rated reality show will get a kick out of this song. Kasha (playfully) pokes fun at literally every cast member, even down to having parts of her waist green-screened out so she could look ultra synched like Violet. It is a fun ride; one definitely worth taking.

Support this classy show girl by buying her single on iTunes. It will probably help out Adam Barta, too, but then again he may use the money for a third Tan Mom song, so be careful.

Even More RuPaul Themed X-Mas On The Way With Drag Race Album

Yas, hunties! It has been confirmed that we are getting even more holiday cheer in the form of men dressed up as woman. Who care about tradition? These ladybois are ready to rock you, and they don't give a damn about morals. Well maybe Ginger does, but the rest don't! So let's check out this sexy and sleek new RuPaul's Drag Race alumni Christmas album!

That's right! All of your faves are back! As long as your faves are Alaska, Ginger Minj, Miss Fame, Sharon Needles, Courtney Act, Katya, Jiggly Caliente, Detox, Darienne Lake, Ivy Winters, Pandora Boxx, Violet Chachki, Phi Phi O'Hara, Jinkx Monsoon, and Manila Luzon, because that's who alls on it. I see a lot of names that I have come to know and love, so I for one am excited about it. People Magazine online broke the story earlier this week, and people have been going crazy! Check out the track list!

1. “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” Christmas Queens
2. “Everyday Is Christmas,” Alaska
3. “Christma-Hannu-Kwanzaa-Ka,” Ginger Minj
4. “Toyland,” Miss Fame
5. “Jingle Bells,” Sharon Needles
6. “12 Days of Christmas,” Katya
7. “From Head to Mistletoe,” Courtney Act
8. “Ratchet Christmas,” Jiggly Caliente
9. “This Is How We Jew It,” Detox
10. “Christmas Sweater,” Alaska, Courtney Act, and Willam
11. “A Very Cozby Christmas,” Willam
12. “Christmas Is Coming,” Darienne Lake, Ivy Winters, and Pandora Boxx
13. “The Night Before Christmas,” Violet Chachki
14. “Naughty or Nice,” Phi Phi O’Hara
15. “Red & Green,” Jinkx Monsoon
16. “Slay Bells,” Manila Luzon

I'm very glad to see Manila back, yet again. She, along with Pandora Boxx (who also is a delight to see) are the only ones that aren't on the more recent seasons, being from the third and second seasons respectively. Nobody from the first season made the cut despite Ru's obsession to this day with Bebe. Weird, right? Willam, Alaska, and Courtney (the AAA Girls) really dominate the album, so it would seem they are the masterminds behind this.

The preorder is TBA, but the release is coming November 13, just in time to annoy the hell out of everyone for playing Xmas music before Thanksgiving!

RuPaul (Finally) Wins Out And Gets Drag Race All Stars 2

I'm pretty sure you're only going to read the header here and watch the video real quick, so what I type here isn't all that important, but I'mma do it anyway. So deal with it. You read right, though. RuPaul finally won that long battle with, well, whoever it was, and is now about to start filming on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season two!

So this doesn't really tell us much at all, but thankfully, others have read deeper into it. Apparently the new season will be a Spring/Summer show, following almost immediately after Drag Race season eight airs. Seeing as Drag Race has become a late winter show (premiering anywhere between January and April), the premier slot is pretty wide open. We will have to wait and see when they are going to premier the next season to have a better idea.

We also have no idea who is going to be on this season. Many people are speculating that only queens who weren't on season one will be here, while others see season one as a crap-chute and are thinking of this as an overhaul and clean slate. Even if they were only pulling from the non All Stars season one queens, we still have some amazing gems like Willam, Detox, Trixie Matel, Ginger Minj, and many others. While the ratio of queens per season may be a bit off (they have so few from season one to chose from), we certainly will be seeing some favorites return.

I'll be sure to post more info on the topic as it becomes available.

Skin Wars Season 2 Episode 4 [Review]

After GSN devilishly decided to take a week off, we finally have our favorite reality competition show back on the airwaves. And if you think that's a dig at RuPaul's Drag Race you better set your butt down and watch before you judge. It looks like Ru has brought in some help this week in the form of the ultra-fabulous. What happens when two of the best reality competition shows cross paths? Let's find out!

Phi Phi O'Hara Takes Music Where No Drag Queen Has Before -- As Jaremi Carey

Like it or not, Phi Phi O'Hara has always been someone to look out for. Forget her slightly slanted stunt on RuPaul's Drag Race. I'm talking about the fashion icon she's become, the cosplay queen she's evolved into, and the musician inside she's letting loose. Phi Phi is a queen to look out for, but in case you aren't already overloaded with impressed-ness, get ready to meet Jaremi Carey. That's Phi Phi's "boy side", and he's just as damned talented.

Jaremi is just as awesome a singer as Phi Phi. Who would have ever thought? Anyway, it's been a while since we've seen anything out of Jaremi. He has told us before that he planned on releasing two separate works, one as his boy identity and one as Phi Phi, but the road to recording seems to have been a long road for him. His first single (As Phi Phi) was produced by Zach Adam, but this is done with Mirrortone Studios, leaving one to speculate that whatever happened on this plane might be the setback we're looking for.

Song wise, "Take Control" does feel a bit dated. It feels more like a track you would have heard back in 2009 when dance music was king. Now with all the indie bands and more mellow pop tracks flooding the radio and net, this song stands out a bit, and not in the best way. I can say, however, that Jaremi has an extremely talented vocalist, and that keeps this track afloat in the best way possible.

The point is that Jaremi has developed into an incredibly lovable person over the past few years. His cosplay alone should get you into him (You seen him be Rita Repulsa!?). The song, although it doesn't feel recent, is still a fun jam and could turn into a great club banger with the right remix. Pick it up for yourself on iTunes and get rockin'!

Violet Chachki Is A Brawler In Her New Video "Vanguard"

Violet Chachki, the winner of this year's RuPaul's Drag Race, may be controversial in her win on the show, but I can honestly say she's the undeniable winner of drag music for 2015. She slayed with her first music video "Bette", and now she's ready to knock you out with her drop down, drag out fight "Vanguard".

First of all I wasn't too big a fan of the track. It's a bit middle of the road and not as stunning as her first single. As usual, however, Violet is not out to disappoint her fans, as she's made one of the best music videos to spawn from Drag Race in recent memory. It may be a bit controversial, but when hasn't Violet been the center of controversy?

What I mean by that is that you can either take this video as something very positive, or very troubling. The plot goes as such: Violet, in full drag, goes into a fast food restaurant to use the bathroom. Being biologically male, she enters the men's bathroom, does her business, and exits. After she exits she is spotted by a group of thugs. After taking a bit of a beating she fights back, and to the surprise of many, the other patrons stepped in and helped her kick the crap out of the jerks.

Now you can either take it as a good thing, being that a whole restaurant full of people stood up for a drag queen who have been at odds with even the LGBT community many times, or you can take it as a bad thing that she is suggesting we resort to violence to solve bullying. I personally am not sure which side of the issue I stand on, but I really like the conversation this video is starting. It also stays true to her gender fluidity, showing her both naked as a woman (with a breast plate) and naked as a man (without the breast plate). In a sense, what I am saying is that regardless of what Violet intended the video to be, it has opened up a great discussion within our community.

"Vanguard" doesn't exactly make for a great song, but it is a fantastic video. It has the pristine shine you would expect from a top drag performer, and all the attitude that Violet gave us all season long. If anything, this solidifies her as the winner of season seven, and sets a new standard of music for future winners of Drag Race to live up to.

Willam and Latrice Team Up For Fun Song "Thick Thighs"

Being that I was coming into this song expecting to hear another parody of "Blurred Lines", I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I mean I don't listen to mainstream radio these days so I honestly can't tell you if this is a parody song or not, but it doesn't seem to be. The good news is we finally get to see the dream team of Willam and Latrice team up again (remember season four? The challenge Willam was DQ'd in? They were good!). Give this crazy, fun, body-positive video a good lookover.

Damn. These ladies are doing something right. They have accumulated more that 250,000 views in less than a week. Seeing as these two are among the top fan favorites from the entire history of Drag Race, it seems weird that we had to wait this long to see them in a song together. Looks like Willam finally found time in between his solo tracks and teaming up with Alaska Thunderfuck and Courtney Act or any combination of those two.

This song is very body positive. Willam, who has said on many occasions that he was fat as a child, and Latrice who is very much large and in charge, are the perfect people to get this message across. It's all about still getting that D no matter what size you are. I'm sure Latrice has no problem pulling in the boys, Wilam is proof that if you are unhappy with what you look like, it's possible to fix it and look amazing. Either way you're covered.

"Thick Thighs" has a very typical music video for drag queens. Lots of sexy muscle hunks in tight underwear shaking their junk around while the stars of the video do very little. We have two different shots of the girls, one of them on the couch together, and another of them on separate stripper poles. It's really not much to marvel at, but the sexy boys will probably keep your attention long enough to make it through the video.

Willam is a mastermind of music, and I can't think of a time when I wasn't excited to see Latrice on my computer screen. It's pretty damn obvious why this song is skyrocketing to success. If you are as in love with it as I am, be sure and grab a copy of it on iTunes. On a side note the whole album is worth checking out, including the "AAA Girls", his AIDS charity ride song with Alaska "Ride For Aids" and  a fun little song with Rhea Litre called "Ucc" (I'll let you figure out what that means for yourself).

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 [Final Thoughts]

The show's over folks. We've got another six months before we have more Drag Race, but before we leave season seven in the dust, how did we all feel about it? Well I have some opinions, and you're gonna hear it. Season seven was a trip, and whether it was a good one or a bad one, you'll have to figure out for yourselves.

Pearl Takes Drag Queen Music In A New Direction

We've seen it a hundred times over. Queens get on RuPaul's Drag Race and think the immediate next step is to make music (regardless of how quickly they went home). Well let's take a look at season seven finalist Pearl. Now, before you roll your eyes let me tell you this -- it's not that she sings in the tracks, it's that she produced them. That's right. One of the few instances of a contestant showing their skills in the music industry in something other than autotune. Get into Pearl's new EDM album "Pleasure".

I know it has been done before, but it's so rare and unappreciated to have a contestant on the show be a producer as opposed to a singer that I have to highlight this momentarily. As far as I was aware, Pearl hasn't really bragged on her DJ or producer skills, but from sampling this album, she clearly has a lot of things she wants expressed. And with a name like "Pleasure", it's sure to be exactly what you would expect from this flazeda queen.

Now, this may not be music for everyone. There is very little singing on these, with only four of the fifteen tracks having guest vocalists. The rest is club bumping pure EDM. For those of you who appreciate this style, it will totally be your jam, and for those who don't usually venture into this spectrum of the techno rainbow, it is something everyone should at least check out to see if it's your flavor.

What really gets me about "Pleasure" is how the tracks are named.  Never before on an album have I looked through the names of the songs and completely seen the artist in them. Song names include "Pervert", "Fake Plastic Love", and "Botoxicated" really scream Pearl to me, not to mention the title track. She is very laid back yet sexual, and each song on here not only sounds like it came from this beautiful artist, but look like it, too.

The album cover is perfect, the genre is perfect, and the timing is perfect. While not even the queens themselves know who's snagged the crown just yet (as of this writing), it looks like in a manner of speaking, Pearl has already won.  I guess we will just have to wait and see tonight. Speaking of tonight, "Pleasure" goes live at midnight. Be sure to preorder your copy now so you can celebrate instantly, no matter who wins!

RuPaul Finally Gives Us The Born Naked Music Video

There has been a void this week without a "new" episode of RuPaul's Drag Race. Well, there was a new episode, but it was all crap we've seen before. All old crap with one exception -- The "Born Naked" music video. Ru has graced us with the presence of a beautiful music video with our three top ladies. Season seven is almost over, but this video will live forevah!

This may be my favorite RuPaul video ever. I'm talking even non Drag Race versions and videos too. I love everything about this. First of all, it was a bit of an aging song, especially since it's from the last album and not his newest, so putting a fun remix on it was a genius idea. Combine that with the fun concept, and tying together the whole season with the top three, and you have one amazing video.

The whole video is made up to look like and old VHS recoding, and it really works with the feel of everything. RuPaul summons to life three mannequins, Ginger, Pearl, and Violet, to become his new drag superstars and they begin taking over. Though there's not much of a plot to it, it really does keep your attention with it's concept, and the fact that we get to see outfits from all throughout the season for the top three. They really put a lot of thought into this one, and it shines far beyond any other video that has spawned from this show.

I feel like Ru finally got the disconnect from previous seasons. In the other seasons' videos, we only saw Ru interact with them in small bits, or not at all. He is really in there with them throughout the whole video, and even has a throwback to his days of androgyny when he first started doing drag by having a wig, little, makeup, and some glasses on during certain shots with the girls.

Let's face it. The remix works, the style works, the naked pit crew really works (where the hell do I get the uncensored version of this!?). It's all go. Plus thank god we got to see that amazing Scottish garment that Violet used in the first episode again. Praise Jesus!

Former Drag Racer Delta Work Walks Right In With New Single

It's been quite a while since we've heard new things out of RuPaul's Drag Race season three favorite Delta Work. She has been working her ass off touring, the heart of drag, while her sisters have been branching out to music and TV, but she's not going to be left in the dust. Delta is making sure you see her with her brand new single "The Walkin' Blues (Walk Right In, Walk Right Out)".

I have to say that Delta was on the toughest season of Drag Race and she completely held her own throughout the entire competition. She is the queen that showed me that big girls can be more than just funny. She was always glamorous, and she knew it. It doesn't get said enough, but Delta completely changed the game and paved the way for other big glamorous ladies such as Latrice Royale.

When it comes to the song, I was very pleasantly surprised. Often times tracks coming out of the show aren't the best, but when you take factors such as Delta taking her time and that she's teamed up with JRED Music, known for their solid releases, she was definitely in a good position for this."Walkin' Blues" is a fun track that balances funny and solid dance very well. While it has a few comedic moments, it really is more about making you get up and dance.

In a world full of queens feeling like the only way to get noticed is with a parody, the name of the song had me a bit worried. I was afraid it was a cover track due to it's rather similar title to a classic 70s track, but thankfully she's taken a different route. The song is cram packed with sex appeal, and it beams confidence, which is something I've always respected and expected from Delta.

You can grab the track on iTunes. Be sure and let her know that we want a video!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 12 [Review]

The time has come! We are finally going to take this rag-tag group of "top girls" to the next level and get to know who the top three are. It's going to be a weird one, with all of the show's major stars (Katya, Trixie, Max, Miss Fame, Trixie again) have sashayed away. It seems like they had a good idea who was going to the top no matter what horrid mistakes they made. Regardless, the top this year is far more balanced and fair than in years past, so let's see where this ride takes us.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 11 [Review]

No. No no no no no no no. No. Just no. I can't say why before the cut, but no. Rupaul, just no. Michelle Visage, no. Assorted other producers and personnel, NO. Just no. Please don't do this to me. But the positive side is there is Hello Kitty. And Rebecca Romijn. BUT NO!

Miss Fame Slays This Season's RPDR Music With "Rubber Doll"

Miss Fame may not be your favorite queen from the newest season of RuPaul's Drag Race  but she may very well become that after you give her single a listen. She's already proven that she has the ability to carry a tune, and with a hot back beat, and a 'lil autotune, she really pulls together the best RPDR girls single of the season. Go ahead, ladies. Try and top this. Check out "Rubber Doll".

I seriously can't get enough of this single. I know it's becoming a bit routine to see a contestant release a single the week they go home (you owe us two, now, Trixie!), but Miss Fame really put a lot of effort into this one. I guess with the delay of the season to March this year, she had a lot of time to prepare, and she didn't waste a second. That and she didn't spill the beans online anywhere (not even to me when I interviewed her!), so this one was really a surprise to us all.

The song is very sexually charged, and exactly what you would think of coming from Miss Fame. Straight from a drag queen who chose a name that would give her something to aspire to live up to, the song exudes the confidence that we only got glimmers of during her stint on the show. She truly has taken the experience of being on television and allowed it to let her grow.

As for the video, it is both sexy and scary. Fame dresses up in an assortment of leather and latex, giving us straight up dominatrix. I have always loved Miss Fame's fashion sense, to the point that even her "ugly dress" that got her sent home was amazing. When it comes to fashion, this lady should never be questioned.

When it comes to season seven's music, Miss Fame has slayed. The production is on point, the video is the sharpest I've seen from this franchise in a long while, and for a nice change, she can actually sing. Go figure. She may not have taken the crown of Next Drag Superstar, but she certainly has snagged the trophy for being the best music act.

Grab the single for yourself on iTunes today.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 10 [Review]

Welcome to RuPaul's Drag Race were the insanity never ends! Don't believe me? Well wait until you see what today's main challenge is. I mean this show has always been evolving in it's creativity and takes on drag, but this is a whole different ball game. Pun certainly intended. Let's get into it.

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 9 [Review]

Trixie is back! And for those who don't know that already well friggen spoiler alert to you. That happened last week so no complaining. It's our second week in a row of having a final seven, and we didn't even get a no-elimination episode! Holy cow! Well there's only room for six ladies next week, so we will have to see who Ru sends packing today. Care to join me?

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 8 [Review]

It's time for one of the most wanted episode of RuPaul's Drag Race in, well, ever. OK, maybe since season three when they stopped this nonsense of bringing girls back. Well today we find out who came back, and who left -- again. Any guesses? Because we are starting this show!

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7 Episode 7 [Review]

Let me catch my breath for a moment here. This episode is hilarious, depressing, and over everything else exhausting. For those who have been saying that season seven is boring I present them with this season's Snatch Game (and remind them how floptacular season five was). For all the haters and the doubters out there, I think the girls of season seven have really stood up and proven they have the right to be where they are. 'Cmon season seven!

Pandora Boxx Invites You To A Unicorn Party In New Single + Video

Everybody knows that I love Pandora Boxx. I interviewed her once upon a time, and I've been cyber stalking her ever since. Well she's dropped a new music video and single to entertain her fans, and needless to say, I'm all over it! Let's take a look at "Unicorn".

I'm not sure what the hell I just watched. Don't get me wrong, I love Pandora so, so much, but I've never seen so much green screening and awkward costuming in my life. Not Pandora, all of her outfits were fantastic (and I could look at her as Unicorn Queen for days) but the butterfly dude, the other unicorns, and whatever that cat-person was, all were just kind of... Yeah.

"Unicorn" as a song had me a bit skeptical at first too. When it began, it honestly sounded like something Frank DeCaro would use for the intro to his radio show, but it quickly evolves into something much more; much better. The song is a fun romp, and is exactly what people would expect from Pandora. It honestly feels much more like a song musically than her releases before, as it's not just one big joke or pun.

Pandora has never been a vocalist, so I wasn't going into this expecting Mariah, but she definitely has made a lot of progress since her first single "Cooter". She is hitting notes with more certainty and has moved to talk-singing for a good portion of the song, which doesn't detract from the vibe of the song at all.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that this may not be Pandora's best song, but it's definitely fun and a great way to harken back to that odd yet comforting style of comedy that only Pandora Boxx can give us all.

Be sure and check out the single on iTunes.

Mrs. Kasha Davis Proves Her Elimination Wrong With Single "Cocktail"

This season of RuPaul's Drag Race is throwing everybody for a loop. Actually, up until this week, I'm pretty sure they've sent the wrong queen home every single week. Mrs. Kasha Davis was one of these wrongful eliminations, but at least we get to see more of her. This smart lady is taking full advantage of her comedy stylings shining through on her final episode and channeled it into a fun and catchy song. Check out "Cocktail".

I had no idea what to expect going into this. I think we already all knew that Kasha wasn't the best singer from Drag Race, but she is one of the funniest from this season, so I knew that she would work some kind of magic to make it fun. And that's exactly what she did. Mrs. Kasha Davis embraces the fact that her voice isn't Mariah Carey and goes for a more comical approach, throwing in jokes, but still managing to make it a coherent song that doesn't get sidetracked by comedy.

It's this balance of funny and catchy that I like. So many other queens have went the comedy route after discovering they aren't a strong singer, and many of them fall flat because they forget that it's still a song and not a standup routine. Sure you can throw jokes at us, but if you don't have a good beat and a hook that people will remember, then you won't be a success. Kasha will forever have "Cocktail, cocktail, cocktaaaaaiiiil" stuck in my head. For. Ever.

The release of "Cocktail" is handled by my friend Jared Jones and his new(ish) label JRED Music. JRED is a fun new independent record label releasing music from talented up and coming artists, and is always packed with remixes and fun jams. In fact, on Youtube, you can find a preview of Jared's Mojito mix for the song!

For now, pick up the single on iTunes and get your jam on!
