The whole concept of this show is the crew of a charter yacht that goes around the Bahamas. We have a rapid-fire introduction to all the crew, leaving this first-time watcher a bit overwhelmed. The series mega-promo at the beginning, though, eased my thoughts a bit, showing that at least we are in for a fun season with lots of hot dudes. That's enough for me.
As the show actually begins, things are a bit more calm. We see Captain Lee welcoming his crew on board. First off we have Kate who was on the boat last year. Apparently she's not happy that Amy is coming back, too. Eddie is next to show up, with the title of Bosun, which I have no idea what it means. He's probably the least hot guy on the boat (which isn't really fair because his roommate, Don, is a god). Eddie is very ambitious and wants to become captain. Leon, the chef shows up soon after. He reminds me a lot of Vin Diesel. It might just be the bald head. Awkwardly he is rooming with Kate.
Our next worker to arrive is Amy. She had an awkward run-in with Eddie last year, and that just so happens to be the first person she sees today. Eddie has a girlfriend, making it even weirder. Kate is still not too happy to see her, but she'll have to get over it. Connie, our lady deckhand pops in to meet everyone. She is from the same town as Kate, and she's our tomboy of the show. She's not a lesbian though, so don't say that! We also get a cutie South African boy named Emile. His hair needs to go, though. Rocky, our 3rd Stew is very insane looking.

Now let's thank God that this long intro is over with. Now onto the drama of it all. Connie instantly goes after Emile, but he's apparently not got game because he doesn't kill "gators". This girl needs to move to Arkansas. She'll get laid constantly.
The crew immediately has to get to work. They have less than 24 hours to go until they get their first guests. That doesn't stop them from lounging around and getting to know each other, though. The stews meet up to go over what they are going to do. Kate seems to be a bit put off by Rocky, who really doesn't want to be a stew at all. Rocky has a very lax view on the job. I can tell Kate is not going to like this girl. And welcome to the Stassi of this show.
Captain Lee calls a big meeting with everyone to get everything under control. He seems like a hardass, but something tells me he's got a soft side for some of his old crew members. He let's everyone know that if they screw up, they will be sent home. He's not afraid of handing them a plane ticket with their paycheck if they mess up. The meeting was short and sweet, and he sends them off to work. Rocky of course continues to prove that she is batshit insane. She is madly in love with the sandpaper-personality Emile. Obviously she doesn't give a crap about personality because Emile doesn't have one.
Back on target, Captain Lee pulls aside his key crew to go over the guests that will be joining them the next day. He goes over the basics of the party from champagne to Mexican food, and then he gets to the guest wanting a foam party and suddenly it turns into them planning a rave. Captain Lee is a bit clueless, and Kate is concerned with how to pull it off, but it's what the guest wants, so they've got to do it. She also warns Leon that Rocky is gunning for cook and to keep her out of the kitchen.
The awkward thing about this boat is the co-ed bedrooms. Usually on shows like this we have them divided by sexes, but it seems like most everyone has an opposite sex partner. Leon and Kate are together, as are Emile and Connie. Lucky for me, Don and Eddie are bunking together so I can drift off into space thinking about what happens there at night.
Before long the guests arrive. They are actually less gay than I expected seeing as they are throwing a foam party. Kind of disappointed, but alas. It was really cool to see what is really going on while the guests are on board. The yacht is gorgeous on the guest side, and the workers actually start off far more professional than the promo would have lead you to believe. Leon is getting some great food to them, Kate and Amy are handling the guests very well, and the boys are keeping the deck in order.
Rocky keeps working on Emile. She flirts with him haphazardly all the time. She pressures him to find out if he has a girlfriend, to which he says no, and then yes. I really am already starting to feel the ware of Rocky. Elsewhere, Eddie lays into Don. Don is under the impression he is an Engineer before he's a deckhand, and Eddie feels he's a deckhand first. These boys just need to do it and get it over with because I think I may be inventing sexual tension in my head. Eddie has a big head and is kind of annoying, to be honest. Can we just have a show with only Kate, Leon, and Don? The rest will have to grow on me.
The guests enjoy dinner while the rest of the crew sets up the foam party. The main guest is very, very drunk and it's kind of embarrassing. The foam party looks a bit like a hot mess. It didn't look like something I'd want to do, nor did it even look like a real foam party. The guest got more and more drunk, and it really looked like a total crap fest. Sorry, but this isn't a party you'd see me attending. The party dissolved into the guests not wanting to party with the main man, so the crew went down to dance with him. Thank God this party came to an end.
We round things out with Rocky being crazy again the next day. She pops up on the top of the boat. She drags Emile with her, and immediately Captain Lee is pissed as hell. Of course Kate is mad about it, too. Surely they will be in trouble next week.
So the first episode was a pretty fun ride. I'm looking forward to seeing how these people work together. Some of them are already trying my nerves (Rocky and Eddie), and others are boring (Eddie and Emile), but there's enough there to keep me going (Kate, Leon, and Don), so I'll keep watching and reviewing.
