For convenience for myself and to cut down on jumping around, I'm going to group each housewife's story into one section instead of spreading it out in pieces like the show did. Lets start with Lisa V.
Lisa V had next to no screen time, actually. She spent most of the time talking about her son. We all know that her daughter is amazing and is very ambitious, but her son is the exact opposite. He is dating a girl who seems to be motivating him, but Lisa is not exactly convinced that he wants to change but moreso is only doing it to impress the lady.
Kyle has probably the most annoying story of them all. I feel like 99% of her screen time this year has been about how rich she is. We get it. You have money. But now her second oldest daughter is going away to college and she's distraught. So she gets her a huge apartment and gives her five hundred dollars a week. Yeah. We get it. She's rich. It was sad to see her get so emotional, though, even if she's only in Arizona which is the next state over. Five G's, Kyle. Good God Girl Get a Grip.
Lisa Rinna didn't get a lot of screen time this time around, either. Seeing as she didn't have any kids going away, she didn't have much in common with the rest of the cast. Instead, we saw her go to a movie shoot. It was really cute to see her on screen acting with her husband. The director apparently wrote in a part just for her, but I figure it was free exposure for his movie to have it featured on Bravo, so he ran with it. Either way it was super cute. We also got to see her be completely adorable planning a jewelry party for the girls. I hope she doesn't learn the hard way that a party with these ladies is always a disaster.
Yolanda, while on the same level (or maybe even greater than) Kyle, is really humble about her wealth. We don't often hear her brag about monetary things, but instead how wonderful her kids are or her husband. I think that is why I like Yolanda so much more than Kyle. That is also why her daughter's apartment in NYC seems less of a big deal and less showboat-y than Kyle's daughter's apartment. Anyway, Yolanda has been upset about her daughter's DUI, and has been nervous to leave her to her own devices in New York. We get to see a really touching scene of her daughter giving her a card saying she knows how big a deal her DUI was but it doesn't define her and she will work to earn back the trust of her mother. It truly was sweet.
I'm not sure what it is about Brandi, but no matter what horrible things she does, such as throw wine at Eileen, the next week she is funny again and I overlook her many flaws and lapses in character. For instance, this week, her ex husband's TV show is premiering and she's throwing a viewing party with all her friends. We have her moderately hot gay house guest, some other dude, some lady, and KIM! Yes, the beautiful Kim has arrived and has the most beautifully hideous dress on. Anyway, they spend the entire episode judging and being snarky and I love it. I wish I could give you some quotes, but I really spent the entire time looking at Kim's dress.
Last but not least is Eileen, who even when looking a hot mess is still incredibly beautiful. She discussed the difficulties of being a step mom to an already established family, and made some good points about not wanting to replace their mother. I really feel for her struggles trying to earn the respect of so many children, but it really looks like she did a good job. The segments of her and her family are always so cute and humbling that I just want to give her a big hug. There was a bit of story shoehorned in at the end, though, about their oldest son going to his last year of college. I mean the episode could have done without that, and it felt extremely tacked on to the end.
I can't lie. This episode was mostly a snoozefest. Nothing, and I literally mean nothing, happened what so ever. We got to see Brandi and Kim's friendship grow and we got to see more of Lisa R which could never be a bad thing. I just hope that next week is more entertaining.
Who am I kidding? The preview shows Kim going off the deep end with Lisa R and Brandi physically assaulting Kyle. Next week is gonna rock!
