Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Season 6 Episode 2 [Review]

Ahhh RHOBH season. How I have missed you these past few months. Nothing is better than seeing my girls Lisa Vanderpump, Lisa Rinna, and Yolanda crazy it up. Unfortunately this season has gotten off to a slow start, with an even slower follow up episode. We've all seen that season trailer, so I'm ready for the exciting stuff to happen. 'Til then, let's figure out the groundworks of this seasons plot lines.

The episode opens up with non other than Kyle bragging about her riches again. I really have had just about enough of this woman, but I guess it comes with the territory. She is always talking about things she's bought or places she's going. The other housewives have careers and other interesting personality traits, but it seems like after five seasons, this woman has run out of things to talk about (well she actually ran out of things to talk about two years ago but that's a different story). The saddest part is that it's not like she doesn't have drama to talk about.

Kyle's drama is all about her family, but she really wants to keep those parts private. When Lisa V called her about their upcoming vacation to ask what dress she wanted her to bring, Kyle revealed that she was uninvited from her niece's wedding in London. Kyle claimed that she wanted privacy in her family matters and that nobody would understand. Honestly, we've been in your family drama for five years now, so why all the sudden start being shady about it? After expertly dodging questions about it in the interview segments, we were free to move on to more interesting things.

Lisa Rinna, one of the few that are actually sane in the show, didn't get as much screen time as she deserved. I really would have liked to know more about her family life, seeing as her father is getting progressively sick. It is so amazing that she can find the humor in any situation and not cheapen the moment. She is a true comedienne, and I'll always have respect for her in that aspect.

It looks like season six is the season where Eileen has decided to come out of her shell. She finally has some things to talk about, but I wish it weren't depressing things. It was so heartbreaking to hear that not only did her father in law die, but also her sister, who didn't tell anybody she was battling terminal cancer. She and her husband went to visit his father's star on the walk of fame, and it really opened my eyes to who Eileen is. She may be far toned down from the other wives currently on the show, but she's got the heart, and right now it is a hear that is aching.

Another aching heart this week was definitely Yolanda. She has been battling Lyme Disease for years and this season it has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. She went to the dentist in order to get the silver mercury taken out of her teeth for fear it was causing heavy metal poisoning in her body. It was a hard thing to watch, especially seeing her husband show up to comfort her given the recent revelations that they are getting a divorce.

Back at her apartment, Lisa R and Eileen paid her a visit to check in. It hit both of these ladies so hard. I don't remember either of them growing especially close to Yolanda last year, but Eileen explained that after having her sister die in her arms it was almost too much. Lisa R is simply the world's kindest soul who feels for everyone. I'm glad to see that Yolanda has a few backers on the main cast, because both Lisa V and Kyle (especially Kyle) have been discussing her in a less than positive matter. I get that they are concerned, but voicing opinions on someone else's struggle is a bold thing to do, and it will rarely help anybody.

The rest of the episode was literally all Kyle. First she bragged about how many places they went and then they showed off the flashy Italian sports car they rented to drive around the Tuscan countryside. I know it's probably getting annoying hearing me complain about her over and over, but that's really all Bravo is giving us so far this year. We are two episodes in and we are dealing with the same exact stuff from last year. Yolanda is sick, Eileen is struggling to be relevant, neither of the Lisas have any f**ks to give, and Kyle is rich. At least the other wives are interesting in how they present their old news.

After arriving at a huge house they rented for the weekend, Kyle and her family welcomed in Ken and Lisa V. Thank god Lisa came along to liven things up. The parts with the two of them driving the sports car around the countryside was fun with Lisa's commentary and even though it was pretty shady, Lisa really helped round out the Yolanda-may-not-be-sick conspiracy theory meeting by the pool. In a sense, Lisa saved the day.

Well she saved it, and then ruined it. Prepare to be completely shocked, but I honestly felt for Kyle at the end of this episode. Kyle mentions off hand that she is attending the wedding after all, and so Lisa presses in trying to figure out what is going on. Lisa has never been one to take a hint, so she kept asking and asking, and things got awkward really quick. Kyle obviously didn't want her daughters aware of the full extent of her family issues, and the dinner table wasn't exactly the place to talk about the finer points of beefing with your family.

Here's the thing. Do I think it's weird that only two of Kyle's daughters were invited to the wedding (Her youngest, the flower girl, and her oldest)? Yes. It's very weird. But to bring it up at dinner in front of the kids who weren't invited? No, that's pretty awful. The kids probably already felt awful that they were being exiled from their family, and the look on Mauricio's face really said it all. It was very apparent there was more to the story that Kyle wasn't willing to talk about in front of her kids but Lisa just wouldn't stop.

And that's where this week's adventure ended. It's weird feeling bad for Kyle, especially when she tries so hard to ignore all the problems in her life with money, but when kids are involved is when I draw the line. Just like I didn't agree with the RHNJ wives getting sloshed in front of their children, I don't approve of Lisa's prying into their family dynamics in front of Kyle's.

Now that the soapbox is over, I'm excited to announce that next week were are getting at least one new housewife! Let's hope for both of them (They are both blond so I'm not sure if I was seeing got same woman twice). Hopefully they will spice up the season a bit. New ladies almost always do. The drama is right around the corner, and with all these friendships coming to their own while others fade into obscurity, it's obvious something big is just around the corner.
