Wait we are still in Amsterdam? Damn.
We start off at the market in Amsterdam with the ladies talking in their own little groups. Brandi, who doesn't see the magnitude of her slap, is off buying flowers to apologize to Lisa V with. Whens he approaches her, Vanderpump makes it clear that there's not much she can do at this point. Lisa refuses the apology and says the only way to make it up to her is to stop and think before she acts. It's kind of a crappy way to go about the situation, but after everything Brandi has put her through, it's kind of justified.
Lisa V thereafter talks to Yolanda about the whole thing, saying that she wants her to change. Yolanda tries to defend both of the girls equally, but is finding it very hard to speak up for Brandi. She reveals she did talk to her and told her many of the same things Lisa did. Damn. These girls really are not Team Brandi lately.
From here the group splits in two with the bulk of the ladies going with Yolanda and Brandi going off on her own. She's met a "hot" young man that she is going on a date with. I put the quotation marks around hot because, well, he's really not. I don't see the appeal what-so-ever. He's young and paying attention to her, and sadly it looks like that's all it takes for Brandi. Add that to the fact that he apparently shows up really late and you've got one unappealing man, in my opinion.
During their date, Brandi is getting quite drunk. She says she only had three glasses of wine (which by now you think would barely phase her), but she's getting pretty sloppy. It's hard to watch her with this guy, stumbling her words while she flirts. Overall this was a difficult scene to process fully.
On the other side of the story, the rest of the girls are enjoying a nice dinner. It's weird how the absence of Brandi is portrayed as a godsend to these women. I almost want to say there was more going on than we got to see, but I can't say for sure. They do spend a weird amount of time talking about Brandi and her new man. So he's young. Get over it, women. You all have husbands mostly (sorry Kim).
We get a six day time skip to get us back to Beverly Hills. THANK. GOD. I was getting so sick of Amsterdam. The drama felt so contained because they all had to be around each other and it was a trainwreck from start to finish. Good riddance Amsterdam. I have nothing against your country, but this show made me want to avoid it for a while.
Back home Yolanda and Brandi have a girls day at the spa. Of course it doesn't go well. First off, Brandi reveals her father is in the hospital. It must be serious because she is very shaken and upset. Yolanda, being the incredibly kind heart she is, tries to comfort her friend in her time of need. To add things to the pile, Brandi also gets it off her chest that everyone jumps on her for her mistakes, but lets everyone else slide. I totally agree with this. When Brandi does something stupid, they harp on it for days, sometimes weeks. When someone else does (IE Lisa Rinna throwing a glass), they pretty much avoid talking about it for the next forever. I find it a bit disturbing that just because she's pegged as a troublemaker that she isn't allotted the same treatment.
Kim decides to confide in an old friend as opposed to approaching another cast member. Former Real Housewife Adrienne Maloof makes an appearance to talk things out with her old friend. What I like about Adrienne (other than she is beautiful!) is that she is very level headed. She gives Kim some good advice, but also simply listens to her without interjecting. She urges her to speak with her sister.
On the other side, Kyle is talking to Lisa R about the same exact situation. Lisa R is more involved with everything, so their conversation was a bit more intense. In a weird twist, Rinna seems to believe in Kim and Brandi's relationship now. I didn't see that coming. Either way, she also urges the two of them to get together and hash things out. That seems to be the best option.
Sadly, Eileen has no drama going on, simply taking care of her family, so she only got one small segment about helping with her son's homework. I wish we could see more of her, but when she's literally the least crazy in a room full of borderline psychopaths, I think not many people will pay attention to her. Sorry!
After a few more scenes of Kyle talking about how rich she is, we finally get to see her and her sister get together at their vacation house in the desert. Everything starts off OK, with them both doing their usual routine of pretending everything is fine, but they came there for more than that, so it quickly fades. They get on the topic of Brandi being a bad friend and saying that they should have an intervention for Kim. Let it be noted that even the shady editors at Bravo aren't going to let that fly. They immediately show through flashbacks that this statement was taken out of context. Looks like at least somebody has got Brandi's back.
When that topic was beaten to death, they moved on to the more core issue. The whole "You stole my house!" issue from a few seasons ago gets further explained. Apparently Kyle bought out her sisters from their family home and sold it, but Kim paints a different picture. Without being there it's really hard to tell who is telling the truth and who is lying, but from this perspective, it looks like Kyle did some shady things to get what she wanted. Maybe it's not all Kim's fault after all.
After they are done screaming and burning their dinner on the stove, Kyle storms off to be alone. Kim decides that there has been enough fighting and that they should have a nice dinner. She goes in the kitchen, bravely hugs her sister, and moves on. It's not clear if they really made up or not, but it's definitely a push in the right direction. I'm glad they aren't ending up like a certain other Real Housewives family.
It really feels like this episode was only here to set up for the finale. There are far bigger issues to deal with (like the slap, the Rinna/Kim situation) to be talking about something that happened two or three seasons ago. Instead, they are all running to everyone else talking about it, but it's clear that in the finale, things are going to blow up. I'm kind of looking forward to it, and also kind of wanting to hide under a blanket because it's gonna be a mess. Trust.
