RuPaul's Drag Race Recap - Sugar Ball

It's getting down to the wire. Is this my perfect top four? Hell no, but I have to say at least the girls left are ones that deserve to be there. Yes, even Alaska. She's proven herself to me the past few weeks, and I guess those freebies she got early on were worth the big reveal. It's a mix of Late Bloomers (Alaska and Jinkx) and Day One Fierce (Detox and Roxxxy). But who will go home this time?

The top four file their way back into the work room, and Jinkx is so happy to see her gone. Was she the first person to be bottom two four times? I think so. They immediately question her goals being here. The shade doesn't stop there either, as the claws come out and they all start to turn on one another. Bitches be fierce, ladies.

The shade gets put aside for a moment with Ru coming in to tell them what their mini challenge is. They get to channel that shade into puppets. They have to pick a puppet that represents one of their competitors, drag it up, and bitch it out because, according to Spray, Everything Is Better With Puppets. Even Drag Race. Detox gets Alaska, Alaska gets Roxxxy, Jinkx gets Detox, and Roxxxy gets Jinkx.

This challenge is just begging to hurt everyone's feelings and cut deep. These girls know way too much about one another for their own good.. Jinkx missed the mark a little. Detox had it TOTALLY down, but then again Alaska is already pretty much a puppet anyway. Roxxxy's was a bit mean, to be honest. Alaska is the funny one as usual. She managed to be hilarious without being mean. Proud of her for that. And that is why she won.

Bitch has a wig under her wig!
Ru announces that this main challenge is another ball. Like last year. Three looks, three runways. They have to make a Super Sweet 16 look, a sugar mamma, and a candy couture look -- made out of candy.

Roxxxy spends most of her time bragging about her sewing skills while I spend my time watching her biding my time until she fails. Can we flash back to pretty much ANYBODY who has bragged about a challenge. Juju? Yara? Hellooo?

Is Ru's job to tear all these girls down? I mean they all go in there so confident and then Ru talks to them and points out everything terrible about them. Alaska is rough around the edges, Jinkx isn't the right era, Detox isn't passionate, and Roxxxy is... Roxxxy. I know he is there to give them a bit of a warning if they are on the wrong path, but he didn't seem happy about any of their progress.

In a not-so-twist, they announce that they have to do a musical number to open up the party. They do that every year. Why is anyone surprised? And Alaska has to choreograph everything. This may not end very well.

When going over the dance sequence, Detox seems to be pushing Alaska a bit. It may be editing, but it seems like every time they do anything, Detox has something to say about it. Roxxxy continues to be a huge bitch. What is her deal? I'm over it. Go home.

Let me go on a side rant right now. I know that as a TV show, and that we may not see everything, but there is no hiding Roxxxy's rude comments. I know she is entitled to her opinions, but there is no excuse for being THAT rude. Why, when you know there is a good chance that this season too will be fan-chosen for a winner, would you make yourself look like such a complete and total ass? I just don't get it. Anyway, let's move on before I get angry again.

First up is the opening number. Let me say that they all look extremely odd in their outfits. Jinkx looked cute, but the rest of them looked completely out of their elements. The choreography was over simplistic, which I figure will be called out but not 'judged' seeing as this was more of a placeholder and... well, time waster.

At least they aren't freaking dogs this year.
Category: Sweet Sixteen
Alaska doesn't look young enough, but the dress was kind of cute. A little simple.
Jinkx comes out as the hippie sweet sixteen. She looked super cute, but more like a college girl.
Roxxxy missed the mark. She looked like she was at a quincinera.
Detox looked a little slutty for sixteen. She definitely got laid at that party.

Category: Sugar Momma.
Alaska pulled this OFF! She looked crazy amazing for the category.
Jinkx looked like Helena Carter. Legit. She looked like a crazy working woman.
Roxxxy missed the point here in my opinion.
Detox had the best look for this category, looking both older and sexy while having the business aspect in tact.

Category: Candy Couture
Alaska's amazing dress pulled it out. With all the drama back stage with it falling apart, I was AMAZED at how she was able to pull herself together. This further proves that I am a jackass and shouldn't have counted her out so soon.
Jinkx, too, pulled her look together. She ditched the hoop skirt for the better, but I feel she may get in trouble for not having enough candy.
Roxxxy's dress was a repeat of a dress we've already seen from her. Boring.
Detox came out looking like a hot 80s babe, but she didn't' have  much candy or even candy inspired bits on her dress.

I haven't lost my mind. Alaska has just been werking it.

They get thrown a curve ball mid-judging. They get asked who shouldn't be top three. Surprisingly Jinkx throws Detox under the bus. And go figure, Rolaskatox goes for Jinkx's blood. Guess they are gonna stick together no matter how terrible one of their people seem to be. At least Michelle clocked that shade.

Alaska was the obvious winner here. I bow to you once more. The bottom two are Jinkx and Detox. This is not good for me on either level. I love both of these girls, and I don't think either deserves to go home. I have to say though, that Jinkx is the better performer. It's about time she got the chance to prove herself.

Jinkx gets to stay, breaking up Rolaskatox for the finale.
