RuPaul's Drag Race Recap - The Final Three, Hunty

Here we are again. One year later and we are down to three talented queens, each who (more or less?) deserve the crown in their own way. The race is close, and unlike last year, it could be pretty much any of them... but let's see if you can pick up on who I'm rooting for.

Sometimes I wonder why they have a final three episode any more. I mean we all know the winner won't be announced until the reunion, and that isn't even the next episode they are going to air. I guess we gotta have a reason to show Ru's new video, so we might as well get this party started.

Roxxxy is being whiny again. Go figure. She starts saying that Jinkx doesn't deserve to be there. Please just get over it. I personally don't think Roxxxy deserves to be there. My opinion. Ah well. They go back into the work room and Alaska and Roxxxy have notes from Detox. Obviously she wasn't gonna leave Jinkx one, so why was everyone surprised?

Instead of Ru coming in to tell them about the main challenge for this week, we get the fabulous Ms. Michelle Visage. But did we really need someone to tell them what they would be doing? It's the same every year, just change the song. This year it has a courtroom theme. They are going to have to act some stuff out, too. Why not hand the money over to Jinkx now?

First up is the choreography. Apparently they are gonna have to dance in front of a fan? Roxxxy had it down pat and Jinkx caught on quick, but Alaska just didn't get it. It was amusing, though.

If this isn't sex appeal, I'll never figure out what is.
We find out that the reason why they have to deal with fans is due to them shooting a piece of the video in a car. They even drop a Pandora Boxx joke with the "Nice Car" reference. Hilariocity ensues -- most of which was due to Jinkx. Again, let's just give her the money. Now. They also have to sing the song at tipple speed so they can go in slow motion. Again Alasksa flops it up a bit. I kind of like her now, and this scares me. She was called out time and time again for not being on point.

The girls each get a one on one with Gloria Allred, a big name lawyer so they can get their case down to defend themselves on the runway. First up, Alaska gets put on the spot again. This is getting to the point where Im feeling bad for her. Gloria thinks Alaska may not believe in herself. Roxxxy goes up next, and is ripped a new asshole by Gloria. She calls her on her pageant bull and tells her to get real. She admits that she was going to quit before she got on the show, but didn't because... well she doesn't exactly explain. And she goes on to say that the others suck because she's better. Gloria advises her not to be bitchy about it, but knowing who is saying it, we will have to see. Jinkx is pretty against trash talking, and that's about all we see of her with Gloria.

As for the Ru dinners, we get to see Jinkx first. Ru always digs into their lives and this is no different. Jinkx explains that her mother was an alcoholic. She explains that her comedy comes from a dark place, and that the reason she drags as an older character is because she's disconnected form her childhood. Alaska's lunch is second. Ru jumps right in asking about how she would feel winning the season right after Sharon. She also admits that she is terrified of dying and leaving all her loved ones behind. It was a bit touching, if not a bit off-putting. Roxxxy's dinner comes down to her saying she's fat and that's why she should win.

Again this year they decide on a light lunch of tic tacs.

In the courtroom scene, they are all set to be all three characters, but at different times. Not sure how this is going to work in editing. Perhaps the best one for each role will be chosen? Who knows. Judge Rudy is presiding. First up, we get a great laugh from Alaska's defense attourney, with the deep voice and red hair. The second round is ruled by Jinkxy, with her defendant. The last round was another big Alaska scene. What was pretty obvious was Roxxxy's flat performances in all three.

What is also pretty obvious is this upcoming courtroom spinoff.
Roxxxy tries to cover up her inadequacies with saying that the comedy queens are after her. She says that it wasn't supposed to be funny. YES IT WAS. The lines were written to be funny, and she just missed the mark. Why won't she ever own up to her mistakes? Jinkx put it best. She needs to stop blaming everyone else when she doesn't do well.

It's time for the final runway!
Roxxxy is first. I really like her dress. She had a reveal, of course. Her hair looks pretty bad though.
Jinkx looks like a goddess. or a new-age Disney Princess. Either way I am loving this look on her. This has to be one of my favorite Final Three looks.
Alaska comes out with some BIG hair. The dress is perfect for a final runway, makeup is spot on, and her booty be huge.

In case you haven't caught on yet, I'm team Jinkx.
They each get a chance to argue why they should win. Roxxxy is first. She has to start out by calling out her competitors for being terrible... and then goes on to say she wants to be a role model. Jinkx starts out with a heart wrenching story about her childhood, and moves on to show that she is adaptable yet true to who "Jinkx Monsoon" really is. And before they go on, Roxxxy tries to save her ass by apologizing. Yawn. Now it's Alaska's turn. I thought her piece was funny, but she may be clocked for doing a character instead of a heartfelt memo of her life. I know what she was trying to do, but I don't know if it will work.

Again, they are going to do a three-way lip sync. Why do they have to do this crap again? We just wanna know who won. I guess a few bad apples spoiling the show ruined it for everyone.
