RuPaul's Drag Race Recap - Drama Queens

It's back! It's finally back. Just one Monday without a new episode of Drag Race was too much to bear. I have to see all those girls I can't stand go home! Of course there is drama, but I'm in it for the fashion and glamor. Ok, I lied. I love that drama. Well the non-manufactured drama.

 What a long two weeks that was waiting for a new episode. We finally get to see who gets the boot again. All of the "previously on" clips were about Coco. FORESHADOWING!

After Ivy's elimination, everyone seems sincerely sad. She was actually one of the girls who made good with all of the girls with no enemies. Straight up again, Coco starts shit with Alyssa. I don't get what her problem is with her? And she's starting up stuff with Coco, too. Forget Rolaskatox, it's now Comedy VS Pageant. BAM!

Right away, the She-Mail comes in to the work room. As usual, it makes absolutely no sense. Luckily Man-Ru comes in quickly to explain. The mini challenge is for them to play The Crying Game. They have to cry on the spot, mascara and all. None of these girls are good at acting. They all had some amusing stories including Alaska going into her "husband" and Jinkx calling herself the most polished. The only one who really stood out was Detox who shared the story of losing his boyfriend. It was actually touching to see someone be real on this show for once.

Man-Ru

Detox and Alyssa (!?) win this. They have to do a Telenovela style soap opera. The two winners get pick thier cast. Of course Detox picks Roxxxy first and then Alaska. I am actually starting to side with Alaska on this -- those bitches need to drop that team crap and move on. Is it weird that I'm starting to like Alaska? Took nine episodes.

Back in the real world, we have Alyssa being Alyssa. She is overdoing her faces even more, as if she knew somehow that would be the one thing to make me love her like crazy. Ru asks Coco if she and Alyssa have patched it up, to which she instantly says "no." Oh lawd don't show your flaws to Ru. Never ever. Never ever ever. Team Detox on the other hand, Ru seems to imply that Rolaskatox is a bad idea. Well duh.

Team Detox gets to go first on the main challenge. Ru introduces them to their leading man, whom I have no idea who it is, but he is pretty sexy. Alaska did very well in acting, but not much can be said for the rest of the group. Detox doesn't "get" TV, and Roxxxy is just... Roxxxy.

Team Alyssa did much better. Jinkx RULED this group, and stole the scene even when she didn't speak. Their bit included them having orgasms, and Alyssa looks more like she got stabbed than getting off. This really puts her in the hot spot. Coco messes up her lines often, too, which (combined with those "previously on" comments) makes it look like we have our bottom two here.

Detox goes into more detail about her ex boyfriend dying. She said that he was a bit crazy, but she loved him anyway. She was there to find the body, and has since had the hardest time trying to date. The story continues to be touching and warms my heart that she can be so real and raw.

Also: Ru's wig is all swept to one side. Didn't someone read Alyssa for that? Anyway, the girls:

Detox comes out in a hot pink piece with a Mexican sombrero to beat all the bitches with.
Roxxxy looks... like she always does. Meh. Nice boobs?
Alaska comes out in another one of her wigs I'm tried of seeing. The dress was cute and red. Vibrant like her.
Alyssa comes out dramatically with a strange dress the doesn't compliment her in anyway.
Coco looks like a real housewife at some kind of terrible upclass ball. No thank you.
Jinkx takes the cake with this day of the dead look Dress is hot. Jinkx is hot. This is what I wanted out of Sharon last season but never got.

As for the shows, well that is another story. Team Detox is out shown by Alaska. Roxxxy was the most annoying person on the show. Detox looked amusing, but I don't think she had much of a chance to shine. Not even in the end, with the big reveal that she was the villain, did she really give it her all. Sad.

Team Alyssa was a bit more boring. Alyssa was really bad with the accent, but I have to say that her acting was much better this week. Jinkx obviously took  the cake and is totally going to win this. Coco didn't over-act -- which was the point of the entire piece -- and may be her downfall this week, especially since everyone across the board did fairly well.

The only two that got any negative comments at all were Alyssa and Detox. I wonder who is going to be in the bottom? Well before that we learn that Jinkx has won this bitch. Obviously Alyssa gets put into the bottom. Third time, lady. Nobody gets three freebies. Coco is thrown in the bottom with her. This is the showdown they have been building up to all season. Is it any coincidence they are lip syncing to "Cold Hearted"? Hmmm.

I was gritting my teeth the whole time, but when Ru said "Coco Montrese" my heart sank. I knew it was coming. My darling Alyssa has to make her way home. Usually this is the point where they announce an old contestant is coming back, but no such announcement is made. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
